Lightweight, good value for the price.
I have very thick, coarse, long hair that I usually wrap in a bun and let air dry. The reason for this is because if I was to blow dry it, it becomes extremely frizzy. Even trying to blow dry it straight ends up frizzy. I've never used a hair straightener before, so after reviewing all the options on Amazon, I decided on this one. It's very lightweight which is helpful for me, because I have muscle problems due to a herniated disc, so I didn't find this to be a problem holding it up with my arms. I also wanted something that I can touch the top of, without having to wear gloves. I found this to be a good option because of the variable temperature controls and I did find that for my hair I had to go up to 450 degrees. It heated up extremely quickly. The plates do swivel a tiny bit so that you do not end up with Kinks, and they were very smooth and didn't pull or snag on my hair. I like the box that it came in, which had a magnetic lid; very professional, Sleek design design. Even though it is very easy to hold the plates together with your dominant hand , I did find that I had to hold the tips together with my other hand to compress my hair in-between plates. After a while at 450 degrees, the tips did start to get a little bit hot to hold. The only suggestion I would have would be for the tips to have some type of locking mechanism so you don't have to hold the two ends together. If you have fine hair you probably wouldn't have to do this, but because my hair is so thick and coarse, I found it more effective. I started out with dry hair that was wavy from being in a bun, and I did use a heat protector spray. It did straighten my hair and left it very smooth. For the price and the value of the product, I would say that this was a good buy.

FIVE STARS
I purchased this straightener to replace a $150 Chi straightener that died. I am so pleased with my purchase - I took a chance and honestly the quality of this product is far better than the expensive Chi. I got the smaller size because I have fine hair and can adjust the temperature so that it doesn't get too hat. It's perfect!

AMAZING. BEST FLAT IRON!!!
Such a light weight straightening iron! It smoothed your hair and it heats up really hot! I am VERY pleased with my iron. It truly smoothed the hair and makes it pin straight. I love how it’s light and easy to hold. It is a simple and easy to use iron. Best straightening iron i have ever bought. Only downside is the logo on the iron came off from heat

Love it!
Love this! Makes my hair shiney and smooth. Works well with argon oil sprays. Adjustable temperature is also a great feature. Totally recommend!

Works well
Does what it's intended to do. I've had flat irons in the past that pinched if I wasn't careful and this never pinches. Easy to changed the temp, easy to see that it's on and the outside of it doesn't get super hot, so I feel that it's safe to set on my wooden dresser without leaving a mark. Happy camper

The perfect flat iron
I recently bought a flat iron so I could silk press my own hair but it left my hair with an awful smell. This one is perfect and leaves my hair silky smooth with no smell. I love this flat iron. I wish I knew about this one first.

Works as well as ones costing 3X the price!
My Sam Villa iron quit working and I did not want to spend another $150 on another iron. The reviews were great and deservedly so, this iron works great! I have longish, very thick hair with a lot of frizz. This iron heats up fast and works as well as my much more expensive ones. I love the wider plates!

Not too hot
It’s very ergonomic, the plates glides super smooth and gives shiny finish. One thing I don’t like is that the temperature recovery is not good. It could have a PTC heater instead of MCH heater. PTC is good for 220 volts but not good for 110 volts especially with a low watts like this. For fine to medium or highlighted hair not for long hair
