I purchased a really pretty pink luggage set and the first time I used them, they came back a real mess. Haha! That's what I get for purchasing a light color. The luggage was a real investment - so I decided that I would get some stencils and try to help the corners (the worst of the dirt and grime). I used a permanent ink pen - black worked great because the accents of the luggage (handle, zipper, wheels) are all black.. Was a bit of a trick to roll the stencil over the corner, so I ended up free handing a bit. And to be honest, I used a combination of 3 different paisley stencils - but 90% of it using this particular pattern. I love the look. The stencil was easy to use. Was a really good size for my use - smaller would have been really hard, using a pen. Paint might have been easier - but the bag had a very tiny texture to it... I think the pen was the best option. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. Hope this info was helpful to you.

nice 12x12 stencil
I have been looking for a paisley/mehndi style stencil for mixed media (not too big, but not tiny, either) for a WHILE and finally I stumbled upon this.This is a nice stencil. It's 12x12 -the size of the large Crafter's Workshop templates/stencils and similar material, maybe a bit thinner. The detail is LOVELY.As another reviewer has noted, the image of the stencil here on Amazon (the black part) is of the stencil material, so that will be the part masked out on your finished design. It's exactly what I was expecting.I have a zillion stencils and masks and templates for a bunch of companies, and I've never seen a design like this. It's lovely.

very nice stencil
Stencil worked well. seems very sturdy, I think I will get a lot of use out of it. The only thing that I wish was that the pictures were a little better. The white picture is hard to see, and I thought that the gray picture was the result of using the stencil. It is not, it is just a darker colored copy of the stencil, so remember which will be your positive and negitive part of the design before painting the wall.

I used this stencil for the sides of my drawers so when you open them you see the design in silver. MANY COMPLIMENTS! I would highly recommend for smaller projects! I used spray paint and then turned it over as a stamp when too much paint got on it... Unconventional but worked nicely

I bought this to stencil a whole wall in my nursery, it looks amazing but if you plan on doing this I would buy 3 or 4 of these stencils. The paint gets behind the stencil and gets the paint on the wall when you move it to the next spot, so that it looks "blurry". Doing 1 wall was about a 2 week process because I had to keep washing the stencil and letting it dry before I used it again. It did awesome for the first little bit!

Very pretty stencil
I bought this to stencil a design on a t-shirt, and was very pleased with the results. It is fairly durable, and stood up to the scrubbing I gave it to clean off the fabric paint, though I did tear it in one spot by accident.
