This book needs to be on the desk of every UK Employer
An absolute must read for business leaders setting out on their Diversity & Inclusion journey. Sheree blends lived experience with her professional knowledge and experience as a Global DEI Leader, it makes it such an authentic read. The content feels relevant for right now and it is refreshing to read so much UK evidence and data. I found it very useful that each chapter is followed by references, this clearly signposts you to further reading. Sheree also interviews several thought leaders that add additional value to the conversation, giving perspective and further take-aways. What I love the most about this book is its readability, Sheree gives understandable context to everything and her insight is easy to absorb. She makes diversity and inclusion feel achievable for everyone and is so generous with her advice and guidance – This book needs to be on the desk of every UK Employer - covered in highlighter and page markers!

An honest, insightful and impactful account of EDI practice
This is an excellent resource for any professional and particularly those engaging in EDI work. Sheree’s insightful knowledge and experience of working in this area jumps off the page! It is not only an enjoyable read, underpinned firstly by an engaging account of Sheree’s own lived experience, but the book also encourages the reader to assess their own practice and perspectives, and will certainly prepare D&I professionals to challenge and enhance organisational strategies and practice. The insights from other D&I leaders provide alternative perspectives and the final chapters explore critical factors that will make D&I happen. The book covers the importance of data, communities, leaders and encourages scrutiny of organisational practices and processes. Overall an excellent book that I would certainly recommend to any professional!

A must read book
A remarkable book, extremely well written, that breaks down some tough topics, with tangible action points for everyone. A fabulous starting off point for anyone that wants to understand - and promote change - on diversity and inclusion.A statistic that really jumped out from the book is this: Companies in the top quartile for gender diversity outperform their competitors by 15% and those in the top quartile for ethnic diversity outperform their competitors by 35%. It's the right thing to do; and it pays off.The book is filled with great advice for business leaders, whether running a major corporation or a small business startup. I urge everyone to read it.

Beautifully written book that industry leaders must engage with
It's so good it inspired me to write an article and speak up. This is a tough conversation to have, let alone write but it's necessary. Sheree tackles DE&I honestly and raises many valid points. It makes you question your own privileges and where they lie. If this is the start of your diversity journey in understanding where you fit in it, this is the book for you. It's an easy read on a heavy topic. It's brilliant.

An essential handbook with heart.
Demanding More is a fantastic resource for building both a sound base knowledge of terminologies and thoughts around DE&I as well as the framework for building an environment and opening coversations to support it in and out of business settings.Examples are brought to life and contextualised through the sharing of first person experiences and stories, none more engaging than Sheree's own. She has expertly navigated the discussion of aspects of privilege, intersectionality and allyship, supported by data, research, literature and her own experience.A must read - no matter where you are on your personal or professional journey!

Insightful, challenging, and engaging
I really enjoyed reading Sheree Atcheson’s excellent Demanding More. It’s a compelling personal story; shines a bright light on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion today; offers practical advice for all of us on demonstrating actionable allyship; informed and challenged me to reflect on performative allyship, intersectionality and privilege, and was just a really good, engaging read.

An essential read for anyone who wants to improve DE&I
Many folks have asked where they can learn more about improving diversity and inclusion (DE&I). I can confidently point them to Demanding More as the first port of call. Sheree's experience and expertise are captured really effectively and everyone who reads it will be left with some key takeaways on how they can be better supporters for DE&I.The book goes through sections on privilege, intersectionality and biases; providing rationale and methods on why each component is important to identify. The book then moves into allyship and how to demand more from leaders to collectively improve on the status quo. Throughout the book are references which provide fantastic jumping off points to research further.

Overrated, lacking substance.
Had a lot potential but becomes very narrow sighted which does nothing but creates more hostility and blaming everything on “colour”. Doesn’t go into detail on other factors. A lot of the positive reviews are from blind PR corporate wannabes. As a person of colour, I found this book very disappointing.
