It's been a couple years since I bought these, but I've used them only few times. I feel I've used them enough now to give an honest review though. The tool holder does exactly what it's supposed to and the inserts are very firmly and accurately held in place. I've broken a lot of tips off of the inserts during my learning process. Most of those are user error but a couple I can't explain so quality isn't the best on these. Seems that they may be overly brittle, but they're very inexpensive too. If you go to the proper industrial supply houses they'll charge almost what you pay for this whole set for a single insert, so it's great for the beginner who's going to make mistakes and break stuff. I can say now that if you set everything up properly and don't mess up, they will make nice looking threads that work well. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

I went to use this item for the first time today and discovered that the external thread inserts that are marked 16ER (hand written) do not fit into the SER1616H16 holder that was shipped with this set. The internal thread inserts that are marked 16IR fit the holder marked SN00113M16 just fine. Therefore, the external thread cutter inserts and holder are useless.

I tried both these tools and they worked fine.
