Green Green Grass
Decided earlier this summer to fix our lawn, it was a complete mess after years of neglect, bare patches and what was green was a mass of daisies and clover. Killed all the Daisies and clover with Weedol - worked great BTW, raked off all the dead daisies and clover, bought a few bags of topsoil and raked a fine layer of topsoil over the worst areas with no growth at all, spread this seed evenly over the whole lawn then sprinkled another fine layer of topsoil over the seeds. Watered every day and every day since ( apart from wet days which in this country is every other day it seems, 9 days later the seeds started to sprout. We are now 4 weeks to the day since this was planted and you can see the stage by stage photos. Daily watering when there's no rain is bringing this on well. I cut it during the week on a rare dry day as there was more rain forecast, kept the cutter blades to 40mm so as not to cut it too low, it has grown another three quarters of an inch since the cut.Great stuff, would recommend to anyone, lawn looking superb and getting better as this grass thickens, colour is amazing, almost luminous green.Photos taken July 1st-7th and today 23rd

Really impressed with the results after a couple of weeks
For context, the picture I've attached is of a patch in our back garden that 3-4 weeks ago had absolutely no grass at all. It's still obviously a bit patchy but I'm very impressed with what has grown so far as it's in a spot of the garden that gets absolutely no sunlight at all. We had been dubious as to if anything would grow in this particular area as it's completely in the shade and had obviously had issues in the past.I bought this particular brand of seed after hearing great things from a couple of friends about it so I was really hoping it would live up to the hype, and I'm pleased to say early indications are that it does indeed. We didn't really do anything much in terms of prepping the ground, and it was a fairly sparse covering we used as we had to cover a lot of ground and wanted to see if it was going to do the trick before committing to buying more. Now we know it's going to work, even in areas with no sunlight, we will be getting another bag.So it's fair to say it's been a tremendous success so far, and it's only literally been 3 weeks since we put it down so I'm sure it'll look great given a little more time.If you are looking for something will grow even in adverse conditions then this seems to be perfect.

Hardy/beautiful when it takes.
OK, so I hoped that this bag would restore half of the garden that having a new fence pencel in destroyed. It hasn't. BUT... where it has worked, the grass is very sturdy and withstood being mowed. I will probably need one more bag for a 40m2 with patches to give a rough idea on results to amount I've used.*update* I have now done a second scattering and the grass that has taken is so gorgeous! Very very fine and robust grass that feels very soft. I had to use a lot of seed to get it to take and be so luscious, but it really is worth it. I'll probably be continually spreading this over my garden in the hopes that all my lawn will look like this!Oh and a hint for any gardeneners that have birds steal your grass seed. Grass is of low value to a bird so the seed is the same. Our Robins, blue tit and blackbirds nests, all prefer the snails I leave that I get out of plants or worms when I'm digging. The Robin will happily stay 30cm away from me when I'm planting and he sits next to the grass seed to do it. If you offer a more tempting alternative, they will not need the grass seed. Offer millet or linseed as these are high in fat but not bad fat like sunflowers, although a mix is fine. Suet is also great if feeding youngsters.

Great Green Stuff
Really good stuff, you have to be consistent with the watering. In the hot August we’ve just had I was watering every day ( sometimes twice a day) if you can’t do that, then it won’t work.Needs religious watering and then after 7 - 10 days it just shoots off.I had a dead spot you can see in the pictures so that was raked out, aerated and seeded with this stuff and covered over so the birds ( and kids) could give it a chance to grow and sure enough after 10 days, off it went. You can see from the before and after pics the original lawn looked tired and the after it looks a deep luminous green. If you can set the height of your mower then after about 4 weeks cut it quite high as an initial cut. It’s not the cheapest out there, but the combination of this stuff, aerating and lots of watering worked well.

I decided this was the year I had to tackle my neglected garden. I have two female dogs (one of which is a digger) and a 'lawn' full of bare patches, holes and weeds. I knew I couldn't do the whole lawn at once because of the dogs, so barricaded half of it off. I didn't prep as well as I should, I'll be honest. But I mowed what grass was there, raked (a bit), and filled in the holes and bare patches with topsoil. Then I just guessed how much seed to use and scattered away. Not the scientific method we're supposed to use, I know. Then plenty of water.(Last year, I bought a robot mower. Spent hours laying the guidewire and boundary wire. Programmed it. It worked great, but there were already bare patches. I measured out grass seed and applied as directed. Nothing grew! Then we had a drought, hosepipe ban, even the established grass stopped growing, ground was so dry that the boundary wire was pushed back up out of it (plus the digging dog helped). The dog dug holes the robot fell into and couldn't get out of, then chewed the wire. It's a good job I love her.)So anyway, this year was the year to sort it. 17 days from my fairly slapdash approach and while it's far from perfect and needs lots more TLC, the difference is pretty remarkable. Being restricted to less than half the garden has been frustrating, so I'll do the rest in smaller sections. And will get the mow-bot going again (but with the wire in a flexible pipe!) as it actually worked brilliantly and I'd rather sit with a G&T and watch it, than mow myself. But would definitely recommend this seed. Took about 10 days to germinate but once it gets going, it seems to thicken up pretty quickly :)
