Everyone who feels love, should read this story of the great, modern mystic, Paramananda Yogananda and his ideal of all-conquering Love. This story reveals his life, who his mentors were and how he became who he was and the message he spread to this world.

For me this book is a page turner and I never tire of re-reading it. I'm so glad someone has chronicled the story of Vedanta in America in the early days. Very inspiring!!

Blissful

This book is a well-written and very uplifting story about the life of a saint. It demonstrates how to handle conflict and opposition in a way that is spiritually constructive, but anyone who is interested in spiritual growth will benefit from reading it. Swami Paramananda has a guilelessness and an innocence about him that float out of the book like a sweet fragrance. It also gives a history of the spread of eastern philosophy in this country, valuable for any student of religion.

This is an extraordinary book about an extraordinary person and the people who themselves became no less than extraordinary under his guidance and influence. I one night, some days after receiving the book, opened a page at random towards the middle of the book thinking of reading a page or two before I fell asleep. But the pages so absorbed me that I went on reading till the end of the book, then started to read from the beginning. It was 3 a.m. by the time and finally I left the book as I had office to attend in the morning. One of the best books, best life, and best narrated account of a saint who lived, taught, and practised love that I have ever read. Swami Paramananda is my hero, if I may use the word.
