The Metamorphosis Mass Market Paperback – 1 February 1972

This one is just great. Go for it if you want to read something different from the current constant styles.It's a literary masterpiece.Packing was also good.

The Metamorphosis is a short story about Gregor Samsa who is hardworking, loyal and support system of his family. One day his life turns upside down when he finds himself turned into a horrible and unpleasant creature/insect/cockroach (Since the original language is German, translators find it difficult to describe his new structure that is closely related to the original state)The story highlights the reaction of his family members. How they suffer while Gregor is suffering. Gregor starts to question his existence and worries about his family more but does he know what his family is feeling about him?The absurdity of the story makes it more real than our reality. It's dark and tragic. The end is heartbreaking so brace yourself.I love this book and several people will find this story relatable at some point. Franz Kafka is one of my favourites author.Favourite quotes:"I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.""How about if I sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense."

The book had a couple of stray marks on the back cover. Apart from that, there doesn't seem to be any defect.The paper quality is very nice and overall, I am happy with my purchase.

I think the translation is a little off so it resulted in a slow read

Letters are so small. Not readable. Very old edition. I like to change the book. But don't know how. I am disheartened.

Translation is lucid. Critical essays are great bonus. But font size could have been better.
