(1 Pair) Hidden Door Hinge, Stainless Steel, Hidden Barrel Wooden Box Silver

Before purchasing those hinges I read the reviews and I was unsure about what I would get.#1 the pair of Hinges consisted indeed of Two (2) complete Hinges Assemblies#2 The screws provided were of High Quality and the counter sink angle of the screw heads were a perfect match with the hinges mounting hole counter sink angle.#3 I was able to mount those hinges flush to the wood surface and it provided a perfect opening and absolutely no gap between the two oak boards when closed.I am not a pro and I have very average quality tools. But based on my limited manual abilities there was no doubt in my mind that installing those required the use of a router and a hand-made jig capable of centering the hinges in a way the mating board (with one having to be fitted on the reversed side) would fit flush and with no gap when closed. And since those hinges are fabricated of several thin plates they provide a little wiggle room to adjust a fit to a near perfect flush reunions of the two(2) boards when using a centering pins or tongue / groove to ensure that each mating boards aligns themselves at closures.It is my first experiences with those kinds of hinges but I believe that there must be a relationship between the gap between the two hinge's halfs when they are opened to 180 degrees (I have measured 11/32") and the maximum thickness on which those hinges can be fitted to dead center on a board.With my 3/4" Board and with the use of a 1/2" dia. router bit it provided 1/8 inch on each side (pretty much like the picture in this AD) and once opened to 180 degree the two mating board laid side by side with about 1/16" gap between them with zero gap and flush when closed.I can only guess that if a buyer want's to use those on a thicker boards, that those hinges will have to be mounted Off-Center to a maximum distance of 5/32" away from the side of each board. Otherwise it might be impossible to mount the hinges flush to the board. I am assuming that this is why one buyer indicated that the hinges could not be mounted flush with the surface of the wood (namely not more than 1/8") because other wise the edges of the board would collide/crush at opening.It took me more that two days of work to fabricate a jig out of plywood and adjusting the guides / stoppers so that I can obtain a good enough centering and screws centering markings. Because I have used a small Ryobi One+ router-trimer I cannot imagine working without my digital caliper to make adjustment on the JIG and to measure the depth of the recessed hinges shaped.So installing and learning to install those in a sterling way is far from being a walk in the park. And this is why I only provided 3 stars on the "Easy to install field".I have gained experience and have appreciated the quality and the compact design. This is why I wrote this review.I wish a pleasant woodworking day to all.

The hinges are workable though they do seem to be made of a soft metal. DO NOT USE THE SCREWS THAT COME WITH THESE HINGES! THE SCREWS ARE VERY SOFT METAL. I SPENT HOURS DIGGING OUT THE BROKEN SCREWS.

These are sturdy, really stainless steel and nicely finished. An astonishing value. The regular metal ones from Soss are nice, but the base metal is not very strong at all and a set of smaller Soss hinges failed in this application. Not the fault of the Soss hinges, the retailer sizedd them wrong and they were just too small. These hinges, and I'm sure the properly-sized Soss hinges as well, do the job nicely and are planty sturdy. Soss makes these in stainless as well, but the price is shocking.

these hinges are very well-made, But they lack any sort of template or instructions. So, if you’re a professional carpenter, then you can probably make your own template and know how far to put these on there and door for it not to bind. If you’re a hobbyist woodworker, like myself, I would practice on some scrap pieces. Or buy some thing with an actual template.If you’re an actual carpenter, then you’ll probably love them!

I read a review here that said they only received one. This is false … it comes with two. They are amazing, but not for wannabe DYIers. No IKEA instructions here … you have to know what you’re doing to make them work.

I haven't installed yet but the product seems more than capable for my intended use. What I have a problem with and the reason for 2 stars is the wording "(1 Pair) Hidden Door Hinge" Since to me a pair is 2 not one. Now I need to wait 2 more days for a second one to be delivered.
