Great product & great support!
I've had my LapDawg for a number of years now and they are ideal for travel. I've used mine during drill weekends and on deployment as a means of making the best of less than ideal living arrangements. I have a particularly small 11.6 inch display for my alienware laptop and the stand allows me to view the screen at a close proximity allowing for a full gaming experience with a controller & headphones combined.

Defective product, lousy customer service.
I got my lapdawg and was eager to put it to use, but the adjustable legs do not lock fully and wobble around. One side is looser than the other and as a result, the tray sags to one side. Lapdawg provides no customer support number on their invoice and I had to dig for the number on Amazon but when I called it I just get a message saying to call back later even though their customer service page says call 24x7. If I want to return the product, their site says I have to pay for shipping. I seriously hope they offer to cover that or I will be taking harsher action against them. For such an expensive tray I expected more from the product and the company. I would not recommend anyone buys this product.

Not the best of materials
Very pricy for what you get and it wobbled from side to side. However on the positive note, it can be adjusted into about any configuration, but that feature alone doesn't justify the price for me. I sent mine back (at my expense)

It's Great When It Works
Had one for a little over 2 years. When it first arrived I had to superglue one of the legs to keep it from sliding out of its socket. The fix was trivial and didn't effect the joints, but for almost $100 you should not have to do this. Recently the joints locked up on me rendering the unit useless, If I had to guess I would say the springs got tired and just gave up. The sad thing about the situation is that this is probably the best laptop stand available for using in bed. And even though mine broke I am probably going to buy another one. Keep in mind I purchased one before the 4.0 V2 which has the lifetime guarantee. Unless they have made considerable improvements over V1 you will certainly need that guarantee sooner or later!

Solves Some Problems, Creates Others
There is a LOT to recommend this product. I find it extremely useful once it is in position. It's great that there are so many positions that it can be used in. I have had the LapDawg for about a month and during that time I have used it perched on a table so I could use my laptop standing up and repositioned for use while seated and while lying down. For the past week I have been using it exclusively while lying down in bed and on the sofa as I recover from surgery, and I am very pleased with it. I would not have been able to endure any use of my laptop perched on a pillow, cushion or book or directly on my belly, so I am thrilled that I have been able to use my laptop comfortably for hours a day thanks to the LapDawg. The LapDawg's difficulties, which can be overcome with some practice, involve the cumbersomeness of: 1) re-configuring the LapDawg's legs to reposition and 2) then the cumbersome steps required to position oneself, the LapDawg and one's laptop for actual use. In the case of #1, with a little bit of practice and use, one quickly develops a couple of preferred positions and some facility for re-positioning the LapDawg legs. In the case of #2, you just kind of have to try it a few times to develop a system. When using the LapDawg while lying down it is clearly easier to position it above oneself if there is space enough to your side to have the lapdawg and the laptop positioned to the side before lying down. This is hard to achieve if your partner is already in bed. Getting out from under the rig can be a challenge if the partner is asleep. It's good to have a surface to your side (table, nightstand, stack of cushions, chair, etc) to receive the lapdawg & laptop so you can get out from under it.... The only other issue of complaint is that the components of the legs can be squeaky, creaky... so maneuvering the lapdawg around with a partner sleeping nearby can be an issue.Overall I am very satisfied with it. And from one who has spend numerous hours working toward low back pain relief, I know it is doing my body a world of good to have my laptop off my torso while lying down. I wish I had bought this a long time ago!!Of the numerous laptop stands I looked at in my online shopping process, I do not think there is another one that would perform as well as the LapDawg, principally one that could be used as comfortably while lying down. I kind of wish the LapDawg folks and the Levo bookholder folks would get together.... they'd really have something there.

Just what I needed!
This is the best stand for using my laptop while sitting in my recliner. I have tried numerous other versions and this is the only one that works for me. Seems a bit lightweight and I am not sure about long term durability but for now it has been a lifesaver.

Works well for husband who has neck problems that where probably exasperated by bad ergonomics . He is able to sit or lay down and have the computer at eye level thus not putting strain on his neck. He said it was one of the best gifts I have given him.
