Retracted/Revised review after attempting to solar charge
I took this device out of the package and it was fully charged so I brought it on a camping trip with me and with my phone on airplane mode, this device kept it fully charged in case of an emergency for the entire week. I wrote a pre-mature review singing the devices praises, however, after taking it on a much longer trip, this device left me a bit stranded. The instructions tell you not to rely on solar to gain a full charge, which I am aware of and charged it via usb cable before leaving for the trip. Once out there and the charge started getting low, I placed it in the sun for several hours over the course of several days and it never regained it's charge. Perhaps I have a defective model? I've read and re-read the reviews, instructions, googled the device, etc. and I can't figure it out. So I'm returning it and going to look for another similar device hoping it'll work before I go camping again.

Great product for busy people on the go
This solar powered charger is definitely a great product for busy people on the go. It’s light and durable, you can easily slip it in your bag or use the provided carabiner to fasten it on your backpack and re-charge the device as you run around town or hike in the mountains.The SPC7k holds its charge quite well – the more I leave it in the Sun, the more charges I get out of it. However, as the manufacturer states, the Solar charging capability is not meant to be the primary charging mechanism for the battery: you will need a USB connection to fully charge the SPC7k if the battery is low and you need to re-charge it quickly.The device is certainly water resistant – I forgot it outside during heavy rain and did not experience any malfunctions or decreased functionality afterwards. Another nice touch is the surprisingly powerful LED torch.Considering the price, the SPC7k is a great deal.

Doesn't work
It didn't charge. My husband had it in the sun all day and nothing. Good thing there was someone with him who had a charger that worked otherwise for 2 weeks he wouldn't have had any communication with me while on his military duty. We will hopefully be able to send it back for a refund.

Sent it with my wife for a 3 month trip ...
Sent it with my wife for a 3 month trip in a tent with no power source. Kept her powered up so far this past month. 2 months to go.

Product holds a charge from USB but has never been able to take a charge from the sun. I live in Florida, constant sun product will not charge.
