Great Product!!
I purchased this as an OEM replacement for the LG branded filter on my refrigerator. My feeling is that it was worth a $9.00 gamble to see if it actually fit and worked. I was pleasantly surprised. Although constructed of lighter weight materials than the LG filter, it fit perfectly with no leakage, flushed easily upon installation, worked perfectly with great tasting water, and at an 82% savings over the original filter cost! Highly recommended.

Excellent filter, especially for well water
We have been very happy with this filter so far. We have well water and noticed a difference in the water quality right away. It tastes much better, still not amazing but at least much better, than it did with any other filter we've tried before. It fit perfectly in our Kenmore Elite refrigerator and was easy to install as usual. I feel like the slightly higher cost of this filter is completely worth it!!

Great filter, but be aware of your model number
This is a good filter for the cost. The buyer should be aware that there are two different levels of certifications for many of the waterdrop filters. The regular model is NSF 42 and 372 certified. The "Plus" model is NSF 401, 53, 42, 372 certified.401 and 53 are actually pretty important certifications, and most of the OEM filters come with all four. Thanks to Amazon's bizarre system of having products change over time while still having the same link adds to the confusion. When I purchased this item 8 months ago, it was the "Plus" model. When I click on the link now from my previous orders, I now get to a filter that is of the "standard" grade. IT IS NOT THE SAME PRODUCT.As you can see from the NSF certifications listed below, not all filters are the same. While the standard model will filter out contaminants to make the water taste better, the "Plus" model filters out contaminants that are deemed health-related.NSF 372 is pretty much a useless claim - as all it certifies is that the filter itself doesn't introduce lead into your water. I would hope not. (NSF 372 was really created to address things like pipes, fittings, etc. in water systems.)From the NSF website:NSF/ANSI 42: This standard establishes minimum requirements for systems designed to reduce non-health-related contaminants. Chlorine, taste and odor, chloramine, particulate, iron, manganese, zinc and total dissolvedsolids (TDS).NSF/ANSI 372: Drinking Water System Components – Lead Content is an American National Standard thatestablishes a standardized methodology for the determination and verification of product compliance tominimize lead contaminants. (Basically, this just means the filter doesn't introduce lead into your drinking water. It doesn't mean it actually filters out lead. NSF 53 actually covers this.)The "Plus" version Includes these:NSF/ANSI 401: This standard addresses the ability of a water treatment device to remove up to 15 individual contaminants which have been identified in published studies as occurring in drinking water. The contaminants covered in NSF/ANSI 401 have been detected in drinking water supplies at trace levels and can affect some consumers’ perception of drinking water quality. This standard offers up to 15 specific contaminant reduction claims. Some of the most popular categories include prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, herbicides, pesticides and chemical compounds.NSF/ANSI 53: This standard establishes minimum requirements for systems designed to reduce specific health-related contaminants. This standard offers over 50 contaminant reduction claims. Some of the most popular include lead, Cryptosporidium, VOCs and chromium.
