So easy!
I needed to cut into a pipe run in order to turn off water down steam without turning off water to the whole house. This was easy to install and works very well. What a boon to the house owner who doesn’t sweat a pipe with confidence.

These Fittings Are A Game Changer
If you'd told me a couple of weeks ago that the main water shutoff to my house was toast and needed to be replaced, I'd have been bummed. If you'd told me I was going to replace it myself, I'd have said you were out of your mind. But today, in well under an hour, I cut out the old gate valve on the lateral coming into my house, and installed a new Sharkbite 3/4" slip ball valve, with no problems whatsoever. Now, I'm pretty handy around the house, but beyond pulling/setting a toilet, or swapping out a faucet set, plumbing is NOT my thing. With these new push-to-connect fittings from SharkBite though, the game has changed. Honestly, the whole process couldn't have been more painless. I know I just saved myself a few hundred dollars, and couldn't be more pleased.A few pieces of advice:1) Get and use the SharkBite deburring/depth tool. If your access to use it is limited (my pipe was less than an inch from a block wall), you can cut it up with a hacksaw.2) When you prep the ends of your pipes with the tool, go ahead and mark the depth on the pipe with a marker, like they tell you to do in the instructional videos. It takes all the guess work out of knowing whether you have the fitting seated all the way onto the pipe. Seriously, do this.3) Getting the fittings to release using the disconnect clip can be a little tricky. What worked for me was to press the disconnect clip hard against the fitting, while simultaneously rotating it about a half or quarter turn around the pipe to get the fitting to fully release.Update on 1/25/2018: I kept a close eye on the new main shutoff for quite some time after I installed it, but now, over a year later, it's still standing strong, with not the slightest hint of a leak.Update on 6/19/2019: Two and a half years later, and still no sign of any leakage whatsoever.

Pricy But Worth the Price
Pros: Easy to install - no soldering, no Teflon tape needed because there are no threads; easy to fully open and close with a 1/2 turn; no water flow restriction - full 3/4" water flow; valve can be turned 360-degrees around the pipe after installation allowing the handle to be placed at the optimum location for preferred use; solid brass; highly effective - no leaks; can be easily removed with the Sharkbite removal tool that comes with the valve.Cons: Pricy

Effective product.
I put this valve where the waterline enters our basement. Now I have a quick way to shut off the water without going outside to the meter and fiddling around with the shut off valve. I should have done this much sooner. I can shut off the water within 15 seconds of the need to do so. Can you?

Quick, easy, effective.
Love it. This is the second time I've used Sharkbite products to easily fix what would have been an otherwise expensive plumbing job. My plumber quoted me nearly $500 to replace the leaky turn valve on the pipe feeding my water heater. Thanks to this valve I did it myself for a fraction of the cost and the whole job took me about 3 minutes. I would recommend this product to anyone. Make sure you have the depth gauge/deburring tool as well since you will need to clean up the ends of the pipe before fitting this in place.
