These cutters are excellent for removing small photoetch detail parts from their fret. The long pointed tips of these cutters provide the user with an effective means to access parts that are in close proximity to the fret which would otherwise make it difficult to make an accurate cut. This factor is critical with small photoetch detail parts that are prone to damage, subsequent to their removal from the fret without this cutter.

Ever hear that expression: "Like a hot knife through butter"? Well, this tool goes through photo-etch brass, as well as thin brass sheet, just like that aforementioned knife. It is very sharp, very precise, and very easy to handle. It has made my photo-etch experience, which I generally do not like very much, a great deal more pleasant. This is a most excellent tool, and worth every bit of the cost.

Worth the money for PE work on models.

These cutters work perfectly for cutting off photo etch parts. Smooth as silk when cutting and removing any smaller parts missed. I do 1:48 scale modeling and will definitely be using them for my upcoming 1:350 ship projects in the near future. Highly recommended if doing photo-etch detailing for modeling.

I've been using these to trim off the attachment points on parts for an infinitely complex folded-metal model my wife bought me. The noses of the jaws are a bit too blunt to use these scissors to trim the parts off the "trees"--I'm using a pair of toenail scissors, which are more pointed, for that--but they work really well for snipping the resulting stubs off smoothly.

The scissors do what they say they will do. They cut through etched parts like butter. Also, they are small enough to get into spaces others won't. I had tried a lot of different cutters with no success.These work perfectly!!

I had a kit with stainless steel photoetch parts. The material was tough enough that a new X-acto knife blade would not reliably cut it and when it did, the resulting stress on the fret bent the parts. These cuters reliably cut the material AND did not bend the other parts! This is my now go-to tool for removing photoetch parts from their fret.
