Baldacchino Cat Scratcher Lounge

It's a bit expensive but but I'm willing to pay for the creative design and good quality since it is visible in our living area. It is made of stronger corrugated cardboard than the cheap ones which makes it sturdier and longer lasting. It is of equal quality/design to the PetFusion scratcher lounges that I purchased from Amazon in 1/2013 and they are still in great shape despite my 3 cats daily attention!This scratcher is a bit more versatile in that sometimes I leave it up as shown in the pic and I also turn it over to make a tunnel (they love thinking they're hiding in it). Overall my kitties love it and it's a favorite spot to hang, scratch or play plus it's so much nicer to look at for me.Wish there were more quality products like this to choose from.

My cats love this thing, but like the previously returned Doppio structure, the facade is beginning to come off. It took longer to happen, though, but it should not be happening!

Until recently, design-conscious, budget-friendly cat products typically meant dismantling IKEA furniture. Then came the"original" infinity-sign shape cardboard scratcher. We tried it for about six months.Despite comparatively liberal Manhattan square footage standards, this playhouse loveseat-sized cardboard object took up considerable floor space & became somewhat of an eyesore (note: cat did like it; used it for napping purposes). It had to go. After browsing through customer ratings & exorbitant pricing (after all, it IS cardboard), this seemed like the obvious choice.I was pleasantly surprised with it arrived and hauled the older version to a local cat shelter. My finicky 11-12ish lb female cat took to it immediately, and I'm assuming it would accommodate a slightly larger cat. It is truly a compact, modernist catnap cave, observation deck, and scratching post (my cat usually prefers sisal to cardboard but the unusual angles were just right).Side note: consider donating a pampered pet's rejected toys, etc. that are still in decent condition to dogs and cats in foster homes, shelters or even veterinary hospitals (usually best to call first). It's a great, simple way to reduce pet clutter gathering dust under the sofa. It's just a nice thing to do.

I'm wondering if cats use the scratching surface on the inside of the curve, can anyone answer this? Seems likes cats would be much more inclined to use the outside surface and so that part may wear out.

My kitten loves this thing! He lounges on bottom and top and loves chasing toys all over it. The little guy was ignoring the expensive and very nice scratching post we purchased. However, he really likes scratching on the Baldacchino. It is a great kitty lounge. Also, it is very sturdy, well-made, attractive. Highly recommended.

Love, love, love! Two cats are sharing this scratcher/lounge and they have used it at the same time. Very cute. It arrived quickly, very well packed and is great quality. It will last for quite awhile. I highly recommend it.

Took my cats about 2 weeks to warm up to this. Now I find them sleeping on it and they've each claimed their own level. We also had the infinity scratcher which they would both try to sleep on at the same time. But for some reason, they stopped being interested in it. Have this in a side hallway where they can snooze yet see all the action going on in the house.
