Great sailing adventure
Treasure is a great sailing adventure, maybe in the genre of Captain Ron. A contemporary tale of a grizzled old pirate, a Mexican drug lord, and 4 intrepeid sailors and 2 babes caught up in an adventure across the western Caribbean.Lots of sailing stuff including handling an 85' schooner in a hurricane, a bit of a love story, intrigue, corrupt officials, ruthless drug runners, etc. make for a great story.I gave it 4 stars because it was a fanciful plot (meaning you couldn't believe it really could happen), but hey it was fun.David

Fun and exciting story. Fourth book of his I read. Hard to know if this was based on a true story. Photos included imply real people.

A wild ride
Exciting adventure. Some of the story lines seemed unbelievable then the author would add a character that made it believable. Even though it seemed the good guys were facing the end of their lives they came up with ways to save themselves making for an enjoyable read.

Treasure, Adventure, Intrigue with a Twist of Romance!
Enjoyment personified - as a North Carolinian I could relate to the coastal regions mentioned in the book. Treasure seeking adventures have always been among my favorites and there's a lot of history mystery still out there and yet to be discovered. Was hoping that they really would find Mayan treasure instead of drug money. Oh well, you just have to roll with the story.

A wild ride !
This is a great story. You'll feel like your'e along for the adventure. If you like the sea, sailing, and adventure, you'll love this book. It's well written and easy reading, while being exciting! The characters are all interesting people. Sometimes their luck seemed to be a little too good, but I like a happy ending. There are many meanings to "Treasure".

Treasure by Les Pendleton
A fun book to read. A landlubber would even like this book. It's been a long time since I did much sailing but the descriptions were right on and put me in the scene. The characters are believable even if the story reaches a little. Overall a great story--perfect for a cruise vacation.

A plot that twists and turns
I agree with most of the other reviews. I would suggest that this book might be considered by some to be a "thriller". Sailing experience might be helpful but is not required to enjoy this book. The story keeps you guessing and is a pleasure to read.
