Eight Classic Albums

There is a mistake in the identification of the albums included in this set. the 1956 albums are "favorites" and "Red and Ernie". The title given for that second album is given as "Red and Foley" in most places listing this album collection. That second name is so obviously wrong that it's a wonder that no one has bothered to correct it in the many places one sees it.As one might expect, the majority of these albums are monophonic. Only "The Importance Of Being Ernest" and "Ernest Tubb Record Shop" are stereo. "Ernest Tubb And His Texas Troubadours" is a mix of monophonic and stereo tracks.The audio quality is very good but I do prefer the later tracks that used a microphone that made Ernest's voice a bit more mellow.If you like older country music, you should consider this album collection. It goes far beyond the usual "Dest Of" albums, bringing forth a better overview of the artistry of Ernest Tubb.

A fantastic bargain. Ernest Tubb is such a great and wonderful country western singer and song writer, do not pass this bargain by.

Love this set of CDs

Ernest Tubb's album of eight CD's is an absolute winner as track by track you hear country music develop from simple chords to the ultimate country sound with Billie Bird playing of the very first electric guitar and always with E.T reminding us that Billie was the best. Ernest may not have had the richest of country voices but he sang songs that became memorable throughout his life.It is difficult not to make the claim that he was inspired and worshipped once you have heard him. Did I say country greats come no better than this collection?

When I was a schoolboy I used to get sent to Co. Antrim, in Ulster, to stay on the family farm. I used to catch a bus to Belfast and visit the record shop and tghat was when I first came across Ernest Tubb,s recordings. When I returned to England at the end of the long school summer hoilidays but could never find any of his records in the local shops. In this collection you have eight of Ernest Tubbs Classic Albums and well worth the money.

I've just spent around three hours listening to good country music, Ernest is an acquired taste but still good country music.
