I had high hopes for the Farmer Queen brand dry lotus seeds, but unfortunately, the quality was very poor. Despite using a pressure cooker, the seeds never reached the soft, starchy consistency typical of good-quality lotus seeds. Normally, quality lotus seeds cook down to a texture similar to mashed potatoes — soft and tender. However, these lotus seeds even after long time cooking remained hard, chewy, with a strange metallic taste, which raises concerns about their freshness and safety.Additionally, these lotus seeds were not in their whole form. They were ground down into much smaller pieces, which is unusual. It makes me wonder if the outer layer had mold or damage, leading to excessive trimming. If that’s the case, the product should have never been sold in the first place.To make matters worse, the seller does not accept returns, leaving consumers with no recourse if the product is defective. This kind of policy is unfair and discourages customer trust.I do NOT recommend this product and will NOT be a returning customer.

Has green sprouts which means they are all damp and shouldn’t be used for tea, apparently.

Soaking and long cook do not soften the lotus seeds, it actually take hours and upon days to cook to soften these lotus. Additionally, you must removed the green part in the center to eliminate the bitter taste. Not a good product. I had better experience with a different brand.
