Poorly made product. The mug looks great at first. Unfortunately like other reviewers, there were many scratches and dings even though the shipping box was perfect. I could have let that go but the inside was not fully sealed like the previous reviews stated. Sides were dry and bare to the horn, the bottom had a big empty spot(missing sealant). Again the mug is cool and bigger than expected, but the quality and pride are lacking. Not worth buying unless you will self it's whole life. You will want to return as soon as you get it.

Great mug, very much what I was looking for. Aside from a few cosmetic flaws around the handle.

I ordered these mugs as a gift for my brother's birthday and they started leaking on him about 2 weeks after I gave them to him. I was kind of hoping these mugs would last him a long time.

I am a huge fan of Vikings especially since my husband’s family is descended from them. I purchased this mug as a gift for my husband, it looks very beautiful and the colors are amazing. The design is well thought out but the quality is so-so. I know that this is of a new line form the company but the sealant and outer coating needs some more work. It has a foul odor to it when it becomes wet, dry it smells perfectly fine. I have received a replacement mug from the owner and it is a bit better but it still has the bad smell inside while wet. I was told that it is the beeswax that was used to make the final coating but I’m not so sure that it is since I work with honeybees and haven’t smelled anything like that. Others in my group have received this product and states that their replacement mugs smell better, but mine does not. I have let it soaked in wine overnight and it still didn’t take out the foul odor. My husband says that he cannot drink out of this but he doesn’t want to get rid of it and that he loves how it looks and will place it with his other Viking looking items. This is more of an ornamental piece then a drinking piece. I love this mug and it is beyond beautiful I just cannot drink out of it due to the scent.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Had the tankard been for decoration only, I’d go ahead and give it a 5 even with this little blemish, but because it’s geared for drinking too, I bumped it down slightly.I have not used it for drinking, and I do not plan to at this time. This is a pretty cool cup. My husband wasn't sure I could drink out of it without spilling, but it was actually easy. I am sure a real Viking would drink ale out of his cup, but I prefer coffee, and when I drink it, I want to drink a lot of it. This cup is great for that. It fits perfectly under my my coffee maker. The only bad thing about it is that it smells really bad coming out of the box, so much so that I was afraid to drink out of it. But, I cleaned it thoroughly and the smell MOSTLY went away. I drank out of it with no issues--my coffee didn't smell weird. I left for a week and came back, leaving it sitting on the drying rack and it was odor free. The only other con was that despite the pictures of various colors, mine was mostly black. I like the cork bottom also because it won't scratch or scuff surfaces.I received this cup at a discount for my honest review.
