Beyond My Words

Beyond Courageous.
Linda and I were in kindergarten together, and our mothers were best friends. In Jr. high school, she was the most popular girl with not only the guys, but the girls wanted to be her best friend too. In high school, she had difficulty, and at that time (the 60's), no one understood what was wrong, but she was looked upon as a problem. In looking back now, I wish that at 14-17, I could have been more supportive and helpful to her.I was at her wedding, and the God Mother of her first child. We stayed in touch for many years. Things occurred, which I will not mention here, but again, she struggled, as I stayed in close touch with her mother. The last time I saw Linda, was at her mother's funeral.During this past Holy Week, I went to a monastery, as I do each year, to pray with the monks. I took "Beyond My Words" with me to read for the first time. I wept. She is an extraordinary woman, a survivor and I hold her in high esteem for the courage and strength it took to write this wonderful book of truth/poetry. Susan

Beautifully written
This book helped me to see myself more clearly. This is what I look for when I read, insight into myself. Ms. Beskin shows both vulnerability and so much strength. Her poems cover a lifetime of feelings and how she has overcome and reconciled so much in her life. She makes you realize that others have been through what you've been through, and it makes you feel less alone. Her poems are very moving and meaningful and I feel like I have grown reading this book.

Be prepared for surprising insights!
The author, Ms. Beskin, reaches deep into her soul in these touching poems, revealing parts of herself, which reflect back to us, the readers, parts of ourselves we may not have recognized before. As I peered into that mirror presented by the author, I encountered some surprising insights. This unique book of poetry is filled with gems that will reach deep into your soul, as well.

Painter of words
Unearthing and giving voice to her deepest emotions Beskin gives the reader the profoundly raw experience of her Life. You get to ride shotgun as she revisits the past, the forgotten and the never more. She paints with words and takes you on a journey of a life lived in technicolor without regrets.
