Topeak Mini 9 Multi-Tool

This seems to have the right set of hex keys etc. needed to do simple fixes/tighten something if you notice an issue during your ride. It is small, lightweight without feeling flimsy and comes in a tiny neoprene case to keep it from banging around, scratching stuff in your pannier etc. I've used it now multiple times and it hasn't let me down yet.

I'm a beginner bicyclist with a Diamondback Edgewood Hybrid 2015. I had my bike built by a sporting goods store for free, so I really can't complain about a few out of spec alignments. In particular, the derailleur was skidding against the crank covering at 3rd gear so I needed to make a simple adjustment. Originally I bought a set of cheap hex wrenches so I could pick and choose exact sizes I needed to go on a key chain. I found that trying to use a basic allen key was really inconvenient with bikes. There'd be many tight spaces where I'd have to constantly remove and reinsert the wrench to continue turning. This Topeak mini 9-function Bicycle Tool not only has the right sizes, but has a much needed pivot point to make turning in tight spaces much easier. With a regular allen key, there are many times when you can only turn a bolt half way before hitting the bike frame, then you need to remove and reinsert at the beginning position to loosen/tighten further. With Topeak tool, you never have to reinsert. Simply flip around 180 degrees when you can't turn anymore, then continue turning and repeat. Or simply use it as a straight tool like a screw driver. Great little investment and comes with a nylon velcro-secured holster with belt attachment (I attach it to velcro straps from my front bike bag). I'd consider this more versatile than a bike tool. Ironically, I still needed a separate allen key to loosen the tools hinges in order to use the allen keys!

I’m giving this 5 stars for what it is…a small, compact, well made tool for the modern casual bike rider. New bikes these days have an assortment of Allen screws that can come loose at any time, and every rider should carry a multi-tool of some kind that can tighten them in an emergency. You might have some accessories that require a Phillips head screwdriver, which this tool also has. If you’re a mountain biker or long distance road biker you need more than this, of course. But for us casual riders who stay pretty much on pavement and don’t venture too far from home, this the perfect little tool to carry in a small under-the-seat bag, or even in your pocket. I like it; I’m happy with this purchase.

Great tool. It has the Allen wrenches necessary to work on most bikes while still being light and compact. It comes with a carrying case which is handy to prevent the metal from damaging my spare inner tube. However, the case is not very sturdy. The case velcroes shut. The first time I tried to open the case, the stitching of the velcro came right off. Overall a good tool but I wish the case was built better.

I work at an electric-bike dealership which sells and rents e-bikes. I rely on this always-in-my-pocket item every day for making quick adjustments and installations of accessories. Had to use the 8mm bit to tighten a pedal crank while on the trail. That requires a bit of torque, to say the least. It was a life-saver (well, not really "life") at the moment. Tough little tool. Highly recommend.

This is exactly what I was looking for: a small, light tool to carry in a small pouch under my seat for adjustments on the road.It’s tiny, but very effective.Seems to be of excellent quality.I have other tools for maintenance at home. This is what you want to carry on the bike with you.

Great little tool, it’s small and has all the tools I need. Good price and just as nice as my more expensive one, I don’t have any complaints, I don’t use the little soft case it came in but it is nice too.

I bought this to replace a slightly larger, though less functional Parks multitool that was starting to fall apart. Compared to the Parks tool, this is smaller, lighter, more functional (it has a screwdriver), and easier to use. I always had a really hard time opening the Parks tool and I normally had to use a coin to lever the first tool out. I don't have that problem with the Topeak - its design makes it easier to get open.I like the selection of tools too - although I'm pretty sure I have no use for that star shapped tool - what the heck is that for? I would have prefered a flat-blade screwdriver instead of the star tool. If anyone knows where I'm likely to find a use for the star tool on a road bike please let me know.It comes in a small case which is awesome (even has a belt loop). Whenever I pulled the Parks tool out of my saddlebag it would grab everything it could on the way out and I would end up spilling the contents of the saddlebag all over the road. The Topeak case solves that problem nicely.This is a very basic tool. You will still need a chain tool and a spoke wrench at a minimum unless you really like long walks home.Interestingly I'm starting to see the Topeak symbol all over my bike lately. I think I'm starting to like that company. They made my toolset, pump, and saddlebag. LOL - hadn't noticed before.

It's a small light weight tool that does the job. I carry it in my bike silca saddle bag for emergencies.

It's much easier to use than my bigger one as the lack of side casing makes it easier to access the alun keys. They are stiff enough to be sturdy. Cute case.

Ich hatte ein etwas grösseres Werkzeug der Marke schon seit einigen Jahren, das absolut unverwüstlich ist. Dieses hier ist es ebenfalls, die Seitenwände lassen sich nicht durchdrücken. Es ist so klein (deswegen habe ich es gekauft), dass man es in die Hosentasche stecken kann. Einige Funktionen fehlen, wie Kettennieter und anderes. Dafür ist es aber auch sehr kompakt und günstig.Es kommt in einem kleinen passenden Täschchen mit Klettverschluss.

Remplace efficacement des outils équivalents plus gros. Je le garde toujours dans mon petit sac à dos pour l'avoir avec moi en vélo en dépannage (il m'est déjà arrivé d'avoir à resserrer des vis). N'encombre ni alourdi le sac du fait de la fiable masse.
