11 + Vocabulary Practice: Verbal Reasoning: Ages 9 - 11 years

An 11+ book i would recommend very useful and practical for students in years four five and six. I bought this for my daughter in year five she told me that she enjoyed it and could understand it easily.

We bought this as an additional revision aid and if packed full of tests that are based on the CEM and GL Tests.The tests are in an easy to use format and can be worked through very methodically.Highly recommend this book for 11+ vocab practice for any parents that are looking for a resource packed with tests based on the same format as the 11+ exams

A very useful book for 11+. All the vocab has been put together in one book which is very good. We definitely recommend it to anyone who is preparing for 11+ test.

An 11 plus workbook that I would definitely recommend. It has an excellent variety of questions suited for both CEM and GL assessment's. It is good value for money.Working through these exercises will help my year 4 and year 5 students practise and build their knowledge of Synonyms, Antonyms and word definitions in a variety of ways.The exercises are quite short and bitesize which I prefer. Many of the pages include riddles and motivational pages which encourage the children to work hard and succeed.The record pages are useful for children to create revision flashcards. The answer pages are clear for parents and adults alike.It is also a useful tool for year 6 students, whether for SATS revision and progress with their vocabulary or to develop the skills to improve their writing.Superb book.

This workbook is very comprehensive tool for building and practicing eleven plus vocabulary. The question types are up to date with recent 11 plus exams and the range of exercises will keep the kids engaged. There is plenty of space so children can make notes of unfamiliar words so they can make a vocabulary flashcards. I love that the book includes riddles and encouraging phrases to keep the kids motivated. A great addition to my 11 plus vocabulary and verbal reasoning collection. I would definitely recommend this workbook to parents and other 11 plus tutors.

A really useful workbook for helping children aged 9-11 years become familiar with and answer all types of 11 + vocabulary questions for the CEM and GL tests or assessments. It's also great value for money with an excellent selection of 11 plus essential words and covers all type of questions that have come up in recent CEM and GL exams from definitions, synonyms, antonyms, cloze and much more. This vocabulary 11 plus book will definitely help my students to retain their vocabulary knowledge ready for the verbal reasoning section in their 11 plus exam. I'll definitely be working through this book with all my students along with 11 + vocabulary flash cards.

This is an ideal 11+ resource for the last couple of months of home tutoring. If you’re teaching an average 9 yr old this book is not at all appropriate because the level of vocabulary is far too difficult. However an excellent resource for later on in your teaching when the child’s vocabulary has built to this level.

The one thing I really like about this book is the layout which is very simple to understand and the short practice exercises help build confidence as the child works through it. My child has just started this book and it is already helping him build his vocabulary step by step in an efficient way as it’s just what he needs at the moment without getting overwhelmed. It’s a great book to start off if you want your child to get familiar with the 11+ style of questions.
