When traveling India, I learned to love 'kanji' or different light porridge mixes made with lentil powders and grain powders. When I returned to the US, I wanted to make a few of my own for quick, light, hot nourishing breakfast. I travel a lot so I needed something that only needs to be mixed with hot water. A rough recipe is 2 spoons of black bean powder, 1 spoon black sesame powder, 1 spoon dry coconut milk, 1 spoon coconut sugar. It is soooo yummy and holds me over quite well until lunch. I mix the powders in a mug add boiling water, stir and cover for about 10 mins while I get ready to leave. Can sip it in a travel mug on the bus, subway etc. Hot, nourishing, no insulin rush, no caffeine jolt-- just feeling energized, nourished and ready to work. In the end, it costs a lot less than your daily Starbucks, too.

Love the aroma and tastes like freshly grounded black sesame! Doesn’t have a smell of stale nuts like some other brands, only the appetizing black sesame flavor. Good source of dietary fiber and fatty-acid, minerals and vitamins. Great with nutty oatmeal or vanilla protein shake. I even used up half of the bag in blender and made it to sesame paste, as an alternative to peanut butter.

This was promoted as something to help with anti-aging, particularly in slowing down the onset of gray hair, so I figured it was worth a try, and the price seemed reasonable. I am putting it in my smoothies, so hope eventually to see a difference, although I read that it takes at least 30 days to notice anything.

Flavor is perfect, but powder is not as fine as some other brands. I tend to make a Sesame latte out of this, and I'll use a mesh sleeve to remove the grains before drinking. I imagine if you are baking, the powder is more than fine, enough.

I discovered black sesame powder and paste while living in Taipei. This is a great food, full of things our bodies need like calcium, magnesium, vitamins and fiber. It's delicious and when I eat it I know I am doing something wonderful for my body. I use this in my morning smoothie and sometimes add in some when baking. Yum!

This black sesame powder is high quality. I put it in my smoothie and it gives a very nice aromatic earthy flavor to it. I use about 2-3 tablespoons everyday and it lasts about a month. I put the whole bag in a plastic container and store it in my fridge. They say sesame seed is very good for you! high vitamins and good for hair ;) I don't see any difference in terms of my hair (still loss about the same as before whenever I shower, I'm a girl btw) but it doesn't hurt right? The only reason I took off one star is because of the price. I would prefer it to be a couple of dollars less.

The powder is very fine, just the way I was hoping it would be and as you open the package you get a whiff of the nuttiness of the black sesame seeds which tells me that it is fresh. I have not used it I. The recipe I’ve intended but I have tasted it and it’s really nice and nutty. I wanted it FRESH & FINE ground and it was! Happy with this purchase.
