Can't wait for more!
Kristin Cast is already one of my favorite authors so it's no thought that I would continue to buy her new series. I really enjoyed this book because I had no clue what was going to happen next. I was saddened by the main characters loss and her grief. But I can't wait to see what happens in the up coming books! Kristin really knows how to pull a reader in and really thought out the whole Taturaus and underworld. It's amazing to see how she puts it all together in a story.

Amazing, of course
What could a Kristin Cast book be besides awesome on every possible level?! Seriously. My only semi-complaint is that I don't have another book with me right now to continue this great series. I hope she never tires of writing because I'd be heartbroken.

Review
I can say that I enjoyed this book. It's interesting to see Kristin finding her way with her writing. Still has some things to work on but this book is a solid step in the right direction.

So Bad I Didn't Finish It
It was so bad I didn't even finish it. The first two books in this series have been very disappointing. I used to like Kristin Cast but these books have really been bad.

Good read but same storyline
I preferred the house of night and the way it was written. this seems a bit same old story and too similar to house of night main story line, girl who must discover her self to over come evil, loyal friend to help etc. It is only the second book so a lot could change x

Scarlet Rain will blow your mind!
I've read the first one and often had to hold my jaw in place. It was only a warm-up to this one! This second book carries us through a bit more of Eva and Alek's quest to restore Tartarus and save the Mortal Realm, fighting a horrible demon-zombie supernatural thing that is known as the Nosoi. Also, all the characters who were present at the end of book 1 are here, growing up and developing themselves in front of our eyes.Talking about plot and style, Kristin Cast's writing is sharp and her narrative is fast-paced, but incredibly balanced (and neatly organized): as much as the story is always running to its climax, she still finds time to include comic relief, psychological development to all the characters, and even some daily details that make all of the characters relatable and lifelike. It is a book you cannot just read indifferently, it will drag you into its world and you are sure to relate to at least one of the characters. The use of Greek mythology is such a plus! I have a little knowledge of it and was surprised to see so many features coming together in her narrative, so well mixed to the contemporary world. I hope we get to see more of Cast's re-working of the treasure the Greeks left us in the next book, and may it come soon!About the characters, who are lifelike and believable, it is certain that you will start relating to them, and probably relating people you know to them, too. Also, it is interesting to see how they grow and change as they experience all this new crazy stuff that life keeps throwing at them, almost like a bildungsroman. Bridget is certainly my favorite (the fact that she is the rich me certainly had nothing to do with it), and I hope for the next book we can see a little bit more of PJ. He sounds interesting and I loved the way he was worked into the gang, but I really think we had too little of him. It is great that we still have more of this Universe to read!If you are a fan of the House of Night novels like me, you'll certainly enjoy this book and Kristin's own style. But don't think it will be similar to the HoN series, because it is completely different and new. It is certainly worth the time and will have you on your knees for more! Also, on a lesser note, Kristin and her mother must stop using these sentences that speak loudly to my heart. First "Love, always Love" and now "be kind to yourself". Still, we really should listen to this embedded wisdom their books bring!
