Product Description The ultimate pop culture magazine. We bring you up close and personal with the biggest celebrities that are shaping pop culture for today & tomorrowfrom the world of movies, music and fashion. .com Review The brainchild of Andy Warhol back in the heyday of the '70s club culture, Interview magazine has morphed from newsletter and photo essay of the Studio 54 set to the arbiter of what defines cutting edge for the nation (well, at least those in the nation who believe New York to be the center of the universe). It's magazine chic at its highest. When you pick up the magazine, don't look for Julia Roberts; look for the woman who will eclipse Julia in the next five years. The concept of the magazine couldn't be simpler--Q&A format, accompanied by photographs--but the Q is often provided by celebrity interviewers, and the A is usually extremely insightful, intriguing, and candid. And the photographs are the crème de la crème, by A-list lensers like Bruce Weber, Herb Ritts, and Annie Leibovitz (if you don't know them by name, this is definitely not the magazine for you). Nudity and profanity may put off some readers; others will be pleasantly titillated. --Mark Englehart

By far my favorite magazine!
I love the interview format, which is stars interviewing other stars. I particularly liked Gladys Knight and Alicia Keyes. How cool! Beware, it's not a slick glossy, but is finished with matte, if you care. The spreads are still gorgeous in sort of a smoke-filled-room kind of way. Aside from getting interviews with big time stars, they seem to spot and interview people who are on their way up and get to them well before the mainstream media does. Prepare to be way ahead of the gossip curve. This is an Andy Warhol pub and it's always far ahead of the times.

Good to wrap fish in
WOW, i remember Interview in the 90s, when it was well designed, thoughtfully written and entertaining. The current incarnation is none of the above. Photography wise, every issue looks the same, high contrast photos. The amount of smoking as seen in the images is shocking. Is it required to appear in the magazine with a cigarette? The design is terrible but masquarding as good. The type is too small, the layouts work against the reader, but if youcan manage to be bothered to read an article, it's very ho hum. I'm so bummed. It wasn't worth even the $10 or whatever for the year.

A truly GREAT magazine!
Interview Magazine is an expensive magazine to buy at the news stand, but it is well worth the money. The photography and writing are superb! I really can't say enough about the photography, and the pictures are large enough for people with vision problems to see. Buying it through Amazon is a tremendous saving over the news stand price.

I was Invited to review Interview mag
I was invited by Amazon.com to review Interview magazine. It was time to re-new my subscription and Amazon.com offered a better price than Interview itself. (My business refuses to buy [or subscribe] to any magazine which costs more than a dollar an issue. Interview is displayed in the reception area so it's like 'free advertising' for the mag.) If you are not familiar with this publication then let me say right-off-the-bat that it was originally started/published by Andy Warhol. Interested now? One of the things I love about the mag is: many/most of the interviews are done by non-journalists. How would you like to have: Keith Richards interviewing Johnny Depp? Or Gwyneth Paltrow talking to Stella McCartney about her latest show? That's the way Interview approaches it. Most of the time Interview is way ahead of the curve; you will see the movie, hear the album, read the book, etc. long after the 'interview' appeared in Interview; which implies you better hang-on to your copies, to read later what was discussed, once you have had the subjective experience yourself.J Sharkey [Diamond Mind Productions, L.C.C.] 5312011

Outstanding interviews
If you love in-depth interviews with the biggest stars, look no further. Interview Magazine does have a little bit of a European slant to it but I tend to think that the best cinema in the world is coming from the UK and Australia and that Hollywood has fallen woefully behind. The magazine also includes very artistic photos and much more.

Don't waste your time or money
I ordered 6 or 7 magazine subscriptions from Amazon, and have been pleased with 5 or 6. My experience with Interview was that no issues of the magazine ever arrived, customer service was next to non-exsistant (they offered to extend my subscription to a magazine that never materialized, and for some stange reason, whose cover on Amazon magazines never updates...do they still publish it?????), and then charged me for magazines that I never recieved. I once subscribed several years ago and, although it was a look at the pictures and toss after skimming type of magazine, thought enough of the magazine to give it another try, but take my advice and save your money. You'll just get excuses and aggravation, lose money and receive nothing but a chance to write a review and complain.

better than most
I dig Interview ok, what makes them good is that they don't try to be other magazines. Interview is pretty much a vehicle for glossy, high value haute couture advertisement, and each issue usually has several interview of well known or up and coming artists or musicians or actors, the catch is that they go get some other, non-journalistic similarly well known celebrity to do the interviewing. Interview is well done -- the photographs are eyecatching. Some of the features are a bit like 'look at all the cool parties we went to this month' and others are 'look at all these beautiful people' but it works because the magazine has good design and execution and it manages to be arty without being flaky. Sometimes the interviews are a bit wooden, as you'd expect from non-interviewers doing interviews, but it's redeemed by others where the interplay is fun and witty. Also, it's funny to see an actor interview another actor, because they both often end up talking about themselves as much as the other.
