Better Melon Slicer
I have tried many melon slicers and this one I will use the most often for all but the smaller personal melons. But you will need to make the cut firmly without being heavy handed to ensure you get all the meat of the melon without the rind.What I like the most, especially for watermelons, is it is a lot less messy. When you use this utensil, the water stays within the half-melon you are slicing making it easier for cleanup and disposal.However, when you are cutting the larger melons, I suggest that you make a cut end-to-end since the tong feature appears to be a bit weak in getting large slices out of the melon. But the lengthwise cut should be sufficient to enable the tong feature to extract the melon slice.

They should take out the sturdy part in the description because of that
After using this for the first time it's okay but not as efficient as I thought it would be. A little small for the watermelon I had tried it on. and the bar at the end was loose on one side. They should take out the sturdy part in the description because of that. I can not recommend this product as it came with a loose bar and a knife works just fine compared to this.

So far this is a much better product that others
Works as described, however the small piece of metal holding the end of Urbachef its to fragile if brakes that little pin/metal will get stuck in the water melon & you won't be able to identify right away! It may cause a small child or adult causing possible injury when eating your watermelon!I have try the competition and that's what happens to me!So far this is a much better product that others!Leo.

Like the idea, but don't waste your money on this one
I like the idea behind this, but this particular slicer is definitely not "premium" quality. It is not sturdy enough to pick up the slices after cutting and when I did press a little harder to hold the cut slice and pick it up, the bar at the end (as others have noted) not only got loose, but came off completely. Now I can't even get it back on and to stay on. Waste of money.

It broke after the second use. Cheaply made. I would not buy another. I've seen them in the local stores for a higher price. Thank goodness I didn't pay any more than I did.

Worked pretty well
It works OK, but if you have a irregular melon it doesn't slide as smoothly. It also takes a bit of practice to use

disappointed
I was very excited about this product, unfortunately it did not preform as I had hoped so I returned it. It is on the flimsy side. Perhaps it is just me and not the product, but bottom line-it did work for me.
