Pseudocereal Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) is a plant which grows at extremely high altitudes in the South-American Andes mountains of Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. Quinoa was cultivated by the legendary Incas thousands of years ago and the name 'Quinoa' comes from the Quechua language, the original language of the Incas. The Incas boiled Quinoa seeds in the same way as rice and they regarded Quinoa as their 'sacred food'. Paul's Quinoa Flakes are flattened raw Quinoa seeds, with no additives.
