A Mason Jar Is Better
This plastic container did not work well at all.The indentations on the corners made it hard to mix the starter, the magnetic stripe would not stay on, the magnets slid down on the magnetic strip making them useless to mark or measure, and the lid is not aerated.I would suggest using a mason jar and avoiding this extra cost for a piece of plastic.

Excellent starter home
I love this container. The lid is snug and snaps on tight, just don't overfill the container with starter and you'll have no problems. The temperature gauge has never worked but it's ok because you really don't need it. I love the magnetic strip that allows you to see how much your starter has grown, so that's a nice addition. Because of the ridges l, there are a lot of corners s which are hard to clean, but honestly, you don't really need to clean this container unless it becomes contaminated.

This thing is pretty much useless
I purchased it as a present for a friend interested in sourdough, but was too embaressed when I opened the package, nothing but a pretty tiny plastic jar with some useless magnets with no obvious use. I don't know if the enclosed dry sourdough worked or not. Very disappointed.

This device is definitely not dishwasher safe.
A trip through the dishwasher and the device is unusable. I used it for several weeks before finally washing it by dishwasher. I was willing to forgive the designers for the magnetic stickers not being reliable, but the dishwasher meltdown put the unit into the recycle. A $20 lesson. One can order 2 wide mouth Mason Jars with lids for no more and they will ride your dishwasher just fine for the rest of your life. A rubber band to mark the original level of the starter before fermenting is perfectly reliable and easily replaced at any time during the rest of your life.

It’s a container.
Not a bad container but the square space isn’t ideal for when I do sourdough. The flour and sourdough gets caught in the corners. It’s a decent container that when my sourdough isn’t in I will use else where. Also, it didn’t come with the sourdough line and once you stick the magnet and the temperature sticker it’s ON THERE.
