Very complete, lighter than expected
A very complete travel guide for India. It's similar to previous editions, but the typography has been improved, making it a bit easier to find what you are looking for. The paper is very thin, with the result that the weight is acceptable. It's almost the same weight as the South India guide (bound version). Compared to the Lonely Planet it contains more information about temples and other places to visit.

I recognize the inherent difficulty in writing a guidebook to a place as large and diverse as India but I have this volume difficult to use and inconsistent in its delivery of useful information. There seemed to be gaps in what was provided that made it difficult to plan individual segments of my trip. At times, place names mentioned in the text did not appear on the map for the city involved.
