Great, so far!
I purchased 3 of the 25lb bags. Seeded them 1 bag at a time, 14 days apart. They started germinating and showing within 4-5 days. They sprouted quickly, but after sprouting they are growing slowly. I’ve seen a number of negative reviews on the grass growing slowly. But that’s how it is advertised, and that’s what I need and want. Also I’ve seen negative reviews that customers didn’t receive the seeds that they ordered. That was not my experience. This is my first fall season to plant this seed. I’m very pleased so far. I hope it winters well!

Pretty happy
After a pool installation we had to repair some smallish areas that became dirt and I wanted no mow. Seeds took several weeks to grow, longer than many of the reviews here, and in fact I gave up at one point. I seeded in May in the Mid-Atlantic. Then came a lot of rain and then sprouts! I was happy with the progress and the grass was so cute and slender coming in but it was patchy, so I reseeded those areas 3 weeks later. I also bought an automated sprinkler timer at that time since the rains told me that was the key and watered twice a day. Things were coming along and I saw shades of green everywhere! Then this terrible 2023 summer heat came in late June/July and brought the weeds (crabgrass and nutsedge), which completely overpowered the new baby lawn and I didn’t want to apply weedkiller yet. So pulling up the stupid giant crabgrass pulled up even more of my cute grass (/cry). I swear weeds grow faster when you’re out of town. We still have some really nice areas of baby grass about 3” especially at the bottom of slopes but some bald spots and scorched spots due to stupid crabgrass suffocating it. But still plenty of seed left to try again in the fall, and based on what I’ve seen, it should do just fine in cooler weather and I can joyously murder the weeds in the spring. Overall, a good buy!

Beautiful thick fine grass
Sowed during rainy season in PNW and it came in lush and beautiful. Was resilient under drought but did watering to survive the parched no rain beating sun of mid to late summer. I has an area with some shade that I watered that stayed green. For regions with rain in the summer it will be easier. But I thought it was really good and came up easily wherever I sowed it, without any soil prep.

Product advertised online as fescue- actual product and label includes ryegrass and KY bluegrass
This lawn seed mixture was advertised as containing equal parts of four different fescue varieties. The actual product, when it arrived, contained none of those varieties, and also included ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass. This information was contained on a label that was obscured underneath two additional labels. All three of these labels were of a low quality that made it easy to tear, and difficult to remove and reveal the actual seed mix composition without ripping and making the text illegible. This was a disappointing result from a company we've purchased from in the past and used to provide product that matched the description. For customers who don't mind ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass mixed into their lawn, however... and blended seed sold at a pure-fescue price... this might be a fine option.

Okay for shade
Great for shaded areas. Expect decimation in the Full sun. Good germination rate if used first year. Prepare to include the cost of of watering if rainfall is short as it has been in my area. Remember, this turf grass and many others is not beneficial to the soil or wildlife!

Works!
We purchased this for a hillside along the river in front of our house …. With little effort or attention it’s grown in nicely, and it indeed grows like a sloth once it reaches about an inch in height! Great green color, hardy (we also have it planted on a walking path) and it holds up to foot traffic well. Very pleased and will be ordering more. Highly recommend.

Very nice grass.
I took awhile for this to grow tall enough to see some solid results. PERFECT! I do NOT want to mow my lawn any longer, haha. I also bought similar seed at Menards, significantly cheaper. However, I like this seed and resulting grass better. I am planning to reseed my entire lawn with this stuff (nearly an acre).I opted to buy the grass cover bio-degradable rug from the hardware store. I also patched a few spots with the re-seed method. Both methods yielded great results.

It grew
I seeded and about a month later, after it germinated (quickly) and reached 3-4 inches, I overseeded. The area was smaller than the indicated area of coverage. I gave it a 4 star as I think it should have been denser.
