Don't be alarmed if gas gauge is below empty. It just needs to be reset by filling gas tank up.
I replace the fuel pump in my Chevy Silverado 1500. Fuel pump was easy to install. Truck fired up on the first try, the gas gauge was on empty even though the tank was half full. Filled the gas tank all the way up the gas gauge went back and forth to reset itself and is working absolutely fine! Very pleased
