Works Well for the Price, Just Not for Very Long
I buy these coffee grinders because they are so much cheaper than the "quality" electric versions. I grind two cups of beans each morning and these grinders last me about six months each, so I buy two-a-year. I think of them like I think about razor blades- they are consumables and will constantly need to be replaced. The problem with them is their basic design. They use a plastic insert in the ceramic cone which transfers the motion from the metal drive shaft to the ceramic cone without allowing the steel shaft to crack the ceramic cone. The problem is that the plastic inserts always crack and thus, render the entire assembly useless. I feel bad throwing away the entire grinder because of one little plastic part but that is how it is with these grinders. They do work well, just not for very long and because they are so inexpensive, I will continue to buy them. If someone were smart, they would find out where to buy the plastic inserts and sell them as spare parts. They'd make a killing!

It is unusable for espresso.
I was trying to use this for a Portapresso so need legitimate espresso grind. It takes FOREVER to grind 16 grams (15 minutes easily). This grinder is just not an espresso grind quality grinder. I cannot speak to coarser grinds because I do not care about those, so it may work great for pour over or french press, I don't know.

Great portable grinder, and adjustable burr
I really like this grinder. It is compact and easy to use, but the best thing is being able to adjust the burr on the grinder. I use this to do cold brew overnight coffee in the fridge so I use a pretty course grind. Electric grinders take it all the way to drip size coffee in a blink of the eye and are impossible to control. The design is really nice, where the handle comes off to fill the top with whole beans; it makes for a super simple and bulletproof design. I have two of these, one I use at home and the other I leave at my office, and the fit of the catch container on one is slightly tighter than the other, but I've never had problems with getting the catch container or top lid off of either.

Even better as a pepper mill than as a coffee grinder
I use this as a pepper mill and it is perfect for my needs from super fine to just cracked peppercorns. I found the grind to be a bit uneven when I initially used it for coffee. The ceramic burr wobbles a bit and causes uneven grind size. Not sure why review asked me to rate "warmth" and "thickness".

Nice grinder, could use slight improvements in design
Not a bad sleek little hand-grinder for people like me that just press a single cup or two at a time. Be warned you must keep the upper inside lip of the bottom cylinder wiped clean of coffee grinds when you put it back together, because this is held together not by a threaded seal, but only tension and it is prone to sticking together if any particles get between the chamber surfaces, which could render this almost impossible to pull apart and open to release the grinds. But for the price I will keep it.

Four Stars
Needs a better diagram and instructions:1. Diagram needs to show that there are two sections to open for a total of 3 parts.2. Since the sections were so stuck together I couldn't open them. Maybe because it is summer and the humidity expanded the parts. So, I put it in the refrigerator for a while. Then when the apparatus was cold I could open the compartments. All's well that ends well.

Happy with it!
It's a good hand grinder. I'm happy with it especially for the price. The only thing I have against it is that you have to screw the bottom to adjust the grind level, and that adjusts itself after a while. Typically takes three or so minutes to grind enough for a french press. Not labor intensive, just takes a few minutes. Like other reviews said, the crank is not attached, but that doesn't matter while grinding it.
