GROHE AMERICA 12365000 Quick Coupling, Red

Grohe is one of those brands that you know are designed and manufactured just the best way it can be. Yes, like one of the previous reviewers, this part gave up just near the eve of its 12 year anniversary. But, like a perfectly designed part, it creates minimal mess as there is no need to shut off water. No extra tools needed, just your bare hands. Plus it's colour coded, so no way you will buy the wrong part. So if it is that good, why does it fail at all, even if it is after 12 years? I think it is the philosophy of a properly designed part to even have properly designed failure (weak) point, so that the location and the extent of the damage is also controlled, which after years of handling pressured water with hardness and other debris is to be expected. If one thinks about it, this is one of those perfectly designed and executed part of a perfect engineered faucet system. Thank you Grohe. It would not be fair if I did not thank Amazon for the excellent job of sending me a replacement. Between our main kitchen faucet failing at 10:30 pm, and Amazon delivering the part to my house at 2:30 pm, it just was 14 hours! No extra payments, but for the Amazon Prime, and no panic phone calls. Just reach home after work and find the part waiting to be installed. And the installation time? 3 minutes and I am stretching it. In a nutshell, extremely satisfied with the way things turned out, thanks to both Amazon and Grohe. And yes, it does mention that the part is designed and manufactured in Germany. Hopefully, another 12 years of bliss on an extremely important device in the house.

Our original RED coupler developed a crack in the plastic coupler that created a leak. Local hardware store had the yellow. The flow didn't seem right and it was $70. Ordered this one, and it was perfect. Brought back yellow. Working great. Though it's a smaller coupler compared to the 10 year old Grohe part, it works great and fits perfectly. Flow rate is ok. I needed to remove the added flow restrictor from the faucet head, however.

Mine broke, this fixed the problem. Make sure you get the correct one. Easy fix, easy to install. Much cheaper than replacing the faucet.

These couplings are not cleanable, well, I was unable to clean it successfully. My original coupling became clogged when I replaced my water heater. I think some rust went thru the line and clogged my original coupling. This caused the water pressure in the faucet to drop. This new coupling was easy to install and solved the problem.
