I was not impressed with the packaging. It came with no directions, and the top of the push handle, that's used to push out the cherry pits, was broken off. I rigged it so I could at least try it out. When the top is on the spring loaded pit pusher, it works wonderfully. It's a lot better than the way I used to push the pits out of cherries, with my hands.

Stuck
It's good for the price cherries get stuck but still faster than individual pitting

There were no instructions on how to put it together- there is still a small rubber piece that I do not know how to put on the cherry pitter. The cherries did not roll into place to be next to pit as is suggested and many of the cherries did not fall out after being pitted. We had to check every single cherry to make sure that it was actually pitted even though there was a mark and the cherry got squished by the pitter; I chose to rip some apart with my fingers after trying to use the pitter multiple times on those same cherries. While we were able to pit every cherry, I do not look forward to using it next season.

Large cherries don't work to well but otherwise loved the product.

If the shaft with the piece that pierces the cherry were a little longer this product would probably work better. As it is perhaps 5 - 10% of the cherries we have pitted have been completely pitted and sent through the top into the bowl. Most often the pit does not completely out and the cherry remains where it was. I have started to push up on the cherry as the plunger goes in and that seems to work better but it certainly is not pitting a cherry a second.

Could be better quality.
As expected. Could be better quality.

Disappointed
Not very effective for pitting cherries. Most of the cherries I had were too big to fit through the shoot and very few pits were removed on the first try. I had to keep repositioning each cherry and even then I usually split the cherry with my fingers to remove the pit.
