This is a unique book where the photographer shows us the world with out any humans being in it.. most (not all) of the photos are of building 🏢 and structural where the focus is mainly on light and shadows

Amazing photographer Michael Kenna.His artistic talent really comes forth in his photos. A must for any photography collection.

The title of this book is a bit deceptive. It does focus mostly on photos of architecture, but there is much more. Many of these photos are the minimalist landscapes that are familiar in Michael Kenna’s work, and then there are some that go a bit beyond that. It is a massive book, with a wonderful selection of photos, and any lover of this photographer‘s work will want to have this.

I have several books by Kenna. This book, by far, has the poorest quality of printing. What a shame. Takes away from the artistry within. If I had seen the book in a shop I would have though twice before buying it.

Another example of the amazing work of Michael Kenna. My only issue with this book is why are publishers still putting images through the fold of the book? It completely destroys the image. We don't do it with text so why is it acceptable with photographs? I know this book is not meant to be a monograph but I would rather see a smaller photo than have it lost in the fold and in this case there are over 130 of them. Please don't do it again Prestel.
