Hartz 3 In 1 Control Flea & Tick Collar For Puppies

This is a review coming from someone who NEVER thought they'd be putting a flea collar on their dog. But here we are! After years of using success with spot on topicals (Advantage and Frontlie), the past year has been a struggle since either my dog or the fleas seem to have gotten used to them. At first I didn't believe the topicals weren't working and took her to the vet to see if she had some rare allergy or ear infection that kept her scratching. Nope. Fleas. Frustrated, I tried all kinds of natural products, shampoos, and combs to try and help my dog. Nothing worked and she was miserable. There was only one thing left to try.. Flea collars. I was surprised to find this collar had so many good reviews, despite there being more expensive brand name options. Since this is my first collar experience and I was expecting it to go poorly, I decided to go with the cheapest 'try me' option. I'm so glad I did. Within an hour of putting this collar on, my dog stopped scratching! I couldn't believe it. After funneling hundreds of dollars into expensive products that were supposed to solve the problem, one little flea collar did the trick. I'm writing this review to let people know that all dogs are different, and you have to try different products, sometimes at different times in a dog's life, to get good results.PS, my dog is a tiny 12 lb spaniel, and there was a leftover 2 inches from the collar I had to cut off. I put this in the vacuum bag for good measure.

I always buy this brand of collars for my puppies and they've worked fine, but for some reason it didn't work at all this time around. I'm wondering if they've become immune to it or something...???Anyways, it does what it's supposed to. It keeps the fleas away for a while and then they come back when the powder goes away. I'm not sure that it lasts seven months like it says. I would have to say that it does last a good two months. After that, the collar becomes stiff and kind of dirty looking. It also gives off a baby powder type of smell so if you can't tolerate those types of scents you might not want to purchase it.

They did their job. I needed flea collars for three puppies who were seven weeks and this was one of the only products I could find. the price is nice and they work well, the puppies were almost flea free after a few days to a week.

Worked very well. I used this collar with my 3 mo. old Cocker Spaniel. It did not stop the fleas completely, but did noticeably reduce them. She also didn't get any ticks where a Mini Schnauzer in the same area without a collar picked up a few. For $6, compared to the other brands, I can't complain. The $40 collar, which I sure works better, was too much at the time. This is a good enough collar if $40 is too much.

Not too sure how to rate this product. Within 5 minutes of putting this collar on my dog. She became lethargic, and her eyes swelled shut. I immediately took off the collar and wiped her neck off with a warm wet rag. She recovered in about 1/2 hour back too herself. Got pretty scared there for a few. There must be some kind of chemical in the collar, that my dog was allergic to. Just glad i didn't have to run her to the veterinarian. Not sure anyone else has experienced this. But sure was scarry for a while.
