EstwingAxe-All Steel with Shock Reduction Grip

I bought this last year , it came razor sharp and kept its edge after breaking many cords of fire wood, wooden handles axes no matter what wood the handle is made will eventually crack and game over , in a survival situation you need an axe that is all metal, because you may not be able to replace the wooden handle. Estwing is the very best axe for all purposes and will never break and need a new wooden handle. I rate this axe with 17 stars.

First off, good luck breaking this axe. It's built to withstand years of use. It had a reasonable edge, but a few minutes on the belt sharpener got it shaving-sharp. The two problems I have with it is the axe is minimally tapered to adequately split wood. It's okay, but there are much better options in the price and size range. Second, that one piece design, though very durable, is something you're going to pay for with every swing. Like I said, it's very close... Cheers!

Nice axe, only complaint i have is that it came extremely dull. You could rub your hand on the blade edge and not get cut. You could literally see the face of the blade edge that’s how dull it was. Took me a while to get it sharp. Won’t be rubbing my hand on it now ;)

This is a fantastic all around axe. I use it for backpacking and camping trips. This is still a very well made item, it seems like something that will outlast me.I love the weight and it can handle anything outside of splitting fresh logs. Great weight and feel when felling dead standing trees, and splitting dried wood.If I ever lose mine I know that I will be right back here for another.

I’m really happy with the axe in terms of performance and quality. Wish it would have came with a leather sheath as it said it was suppose to.It did show a nylon one in the pics though...
