Outstanding Sourdough
Boudoin is one of the best Sour Doughs around. The original bakery has been around for years in San Francisco. It is well worth the cost and you can freeze it. It is expensive but if you love your dough like I do, buy it once a month or every other month or look for specials. Best package I have ordered was with 1 round, 1 oval, and sandwich/hoagie rolls. LOVE IT. Just wish you could get coupons every once in a blue moon.The crust is crisp if heated in oven and the interior is soft and chewy just the way it should be!!!

SFO Boudoin Sourdough bread
Crust is thick and tasty. The bread itself is beyond delicious and ever so soft. Sourdough flavor is beyond description. . Just has that BITE that defies description. Excellent treat to the taste buds. . . . nothing else like it.

Excellent Sourdough
Born in 1951, I grew up in the Bay Area, and there were dozens of great Sourdough bakers all around the bay. But over the years Boudin bought out better competitors and added them to Boudin’s baking capacity. Now we live in the middle of nowhere in Michigan (on Lake Superior) and only buy bread once a year before Thanksgiving or Christmas. But we always order enough to have the world’s best sourdough for our special meals during the long snowy winter and cold spring.

This was as good as I remember! It was delivered a day earlier than promised. This was a birthday present for my husband, because I doubt if we will make it back to the wharf in this lifetime. Baked it for 10 minutes @375 degrees. It was one of the best presents my husband said he received in a long time.

Boudin Sourdough is the best
Boudin sourdough bread is amazing. Best on the planet. It arrives fresh every time. But shipping is expensive. Hence 4 out of 5 stars. I ordered it for a friend as a Christmas gift. Won't be ordering regularly because of the cost of shipping.

Partially baked is a key advantage - comes out crisp crust from the oven - and super moist in the center
The taste and texture is perfect in the cooked product (it is partially baked - so only 10mins to finish). I find that the partially baked is better than fully cooked when your going to eat it some time later - freezing works well. The large bowl is fun to eat with Gumbo or beans - something about tearing into it.. I would recommend this product to anyone that like SF sourdough - get enough the kids will eat it up has been my experience...
