Most comfortable and cushioned running shoe I've ran in + 550 mile update
I switched to these Brooks Glycerin 19s after wearing Asics for the last 30+ years - mostly Gel Nimbus and Gel Excite. I got fed up with with the lack of consistency in comfort and cushioning with the Nimbus line over the last many years and found that the $50 Gel Excite 4 felt just as comfortable as the last Nimbus I ran in. With aging and tightening muscles and joints I researched other cushioned running shoes and thought I'd try these. In size 11.5 M they are almost the exact same dimensions as the Excite 4 and Gel Nimbus, with the heel cup in these being 1/4-inch wider than in the Asics - which works well with my custom orthotics. The toe box in both brands is comparable - I need a fairly wide toe box. The superior cushioning in the Glycerin 19 was instantly noticeable - far more so than with any other running shoe I tried. I installed some bungee laces, ran 6 miles, and found these shoes to be the most comfortable I've ever ran in.My only concern is that the wear-tread is only one-half the thickness of the ones on Asics shoes, so I'm wondering if I'll be able to get the same sole-wear and mileage out of them. For sizing reference my foot length from back of heel to tip of large toe is 10-5/8 inches, which leaves 5/8-inch of distance to the inside tip of the shoe. My foot width at ball of foot at widest point is 4 inches.Aug 2021 update after 4 months and 550 miles: Still very comfortable. I am on my second pair but my first pair, although it has wear, has far less sole wear than any other running shoe I've ever had. In the third through fifth pictures you can see that there is some compression of the midsole but less than 1/16th of an inch of wear on outer sole/heel. In pretty much any other running shoe I've owned there would have been about 1/8th of an inch of wear off the edge of the heel. If I wear the old and new pairs right after each other I can tell that there is some breakdown in the cushioning on the edges of the midsole, but the center still feels the same. Another plus for me was that the achilles collar (inner heel) didn't wear through, which usually happens on at least one shoe out of a pair, because of my custom orthotics, especially because the right one has a 3/8th inch heel lift because of leg-length discrepancy. The only slight downside I've found is that putting them through a washing machine, which I do about every one or two weeks, causes a little more wear than I've ever seen on a pair of shoes. Most of my running is pretty much in straight lines on fairly flat ground, and for that this shoe is perfect. If I ran on trails on curved paths I'd probably go with the Glycerin 19 GTS with its additional side support.Overall I am very impressed with this shoe and will continue to buy this model as long as Brooks doesn't put it through an "un-improvement" update process like all running shoe companies seem to do once they come out with a great shoe.

Supportive Shoes for Men Over 200lbs
If you are like me, feeling the bite of father time, are hauling around a few extra pounds that you are struggling to get rid of between hamburgers and chicken wings - these shoes are for you.Seriously though, these are incredibly supportive shoes. They felt too squishy at first, but after a month or so of break in, they molded to my feet and felt amazing. I have reduced pain in my feet, my knees and my hips when I wear these shoes.I would highly recommend them if you are on the heavier side but want to do something about that and be active. The only note I would make is that they seem to run half a size small, so take that into account when purchasing.

Great product for Plantar Flasciitis
Not the cure but certainly goes along way to help. If you have Plantar Flasciitis and looking for some relief this along with a good disposable insert has helped a great deal with heal pain. The significant cushion in the heal provides support and a soft feel when walking. This also is a shoe (along with multiple others) that my Pediatrist recommended.Well made shoe, sharp look, and very comfortable. I normally take an 8.0 to and 8.5 USA shoe. I ordered a 9.0 and it is a perfect fit. This is my first time using a "Brooks" Shoe. Where this shoe is about $30 more than what I normally pay, I thought I would try this brand. My normal go-to shoe is New Balance.

Great but runs small
You might need to go up a whole size I did half a size and it was tight on the toes. The toe box is not that big but cushioning is good.

Great for Distance Running!
I'm an avid runner (I've been running everyday for well over 15+ years!). I go through shoes pretty good, but I also repair/retread them too. I've been using these Glycerin shoes and the tread wear isn't too bad. Has decent traction. They have about 500 miles on them, and are about half used. I haven't dogged them or used them for speed workouts (I use a lot more tread and tear up shoes that way!) so I think I've gotten better wear out of them. So far I'm happy with them.
