Being a hero doesn't make you any less human. And being human doesn't make you any less a hero.
Andre the Giant's story could be told from many perspectives, but Closer to Heaven brings the humanity of the man from his own perspective. Brandon Easton has great talent with telling the stories of characters with flaws and foibles but who we love to cheer along with anyway. Being a hero doesn't make you any less human. And being human doesn't make you any less a hero. The art works extremely well with the narrative style, keeping things clean and streamlined, but with a great sense of kinetic energy. If you loved Andre the Giant, or just like a good graphic novel, definitely pick this up!

A well illustrated look at Andre's life through a unique perspective!
Great illustrated book about the life of Andre the Giant. A fun read even if you have heard the stories before. The perspective that the author uses to tell the story through Andre's eyes is great!

"A great read indeed"
Reading a piece like is why I love the graphic novel medium. From beginning to end, this read was hard to put down. The mechanics alone from the creative team throughout the book from page to page and panel to panel executes "masterful" storytelling.Medri's pencils are just kinetic and gorgeous with substance. His art style brings life to every moment depicted in Andre's life.Easton's writing of the story is a fun ride with heavy content that grabbed my heart from the beginning to end. This read is a love letter to the late 'Andre the Giant' and it gave me a new found respect for the world of professional wrestling.Rest in paradise Andre. You're still missed.

A Great engaging read! Pick it up if you can!
Honestly, it is a great read, especially for wrestling fans, fans of Andre the giant or just fans of graphic novels, a great and compelling story of the "eighth wonder of world" not just about him as a wrestler, but as a person also, gives a newer perspective of the man we have watched wrestle, really great story, great art style and a really fun read, kept me engaged from the first page.Definitely would recommend10/10

WERE GONNA ELLIMININATE THEM!
Didn’t realise it was a graphic novel, thought it was a written account of his life and was quite disappointed. I read it and completely changed my opinion, not that I dislike graphic novels, but this blew my expectations away. Wonderful account of his life.

An amazing account of an awesome man
This is a great, if brief, account of the life of Andre the Giant. I had no idea he passed away at only 46 years old, as the Andre I remember in the 80's seemed already in his late 40's, early 50's. His disease, and his lifestyle shortened his life, but he made a huge impact on the wrestling industry.
