Good value set
These self drilling screws are ideal if you don't have time to drill pilot holes before driving in the screws. The screws come in a plastic compartment box, however it was all mixed during delivery so the box is not the best. The screws seem very sturdy indeed but I will be honest if there is a cheaper set I'm not entirely convinced I'd go for these. The reason is simple...I usually drill pilot holes anyway, it's not a big deal, I always use a 3mm drill bit, that's enough for everything I use which is mostly diy using fairly soft wood. Which brings me to the other point...if esthetics is not that important I don't bother with pilot holes and I'm yet to see a plain wood screw that can't be driven into the kind of soft wood, I'm using. So for plainly these reasons I'm not convinced I'd buy these...however your use case may be different that warrants these and they seem to be good quality.

Well priced for some well functioning screws
A really good set of screws providing easier screwing capabilities with the self drilling maechanisn. the mechanism works well especially with certain wood surfaces. Difficult to just the quality of the screws however seem to be very sturdy and well made.A good variety of screws is provided and can be applied to a multitude of applications. The box comes with a good number of screws too making it worth the price.

no need to pre-drill, screws work well.
Very handy Self drilling screws, making the job easier and quicker. They grip to materials really well so no need to pre- drill. They come in this handy divided compartment box; keeping the different sizes separate. There are 187 self drilling screws in a variety of sizes and they are made of stainless steel. These are handy to have around the house or for any carpenter. At the time of me writing my review they are £12.99 which I think is a reasonable price.

great screws but box was all a jumble
This set of self-drilling screws is a great set of screws, you get a good quantity of each screw, and they are nice and strong with thick large heads and strong screws threads so easy to use and stand up to an impact driver's power when putting them in.My box dividers had all popped out so the screws were all mixed up when it arrived, so I did have to spend 10min sorting through them all and organising them back into sections of the box, once done it did look great, and I like the fact you can then re-use the box afterwards with moveable dividers if you wish.Overall, at £11.69 currently they are a good price for quality stainless steel self-drilling screws. If you have found this review helpful, please hit the helpful button as this inspires me to write more.

Useful DIY set of self drilling screws (various sizes)
Priced at £11.69 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, these self-drilling screws are both a screw and a drill in one, according to my engineer brother. He says these are for drilling and tapping a thread in a sheet or mild steel material or similar in order to attach items to metal or fabricated sheet walls. He continued by saying there are a good range of sizes, each allocated a compartment within the plastic box they arrive in, although they are now mixed together (due to transit) -- this is not a big issue and to be expected. These are not for masonry; these are to drill holes in metal. The overall quality looks good and the price point is reasonable for a DIY set for doing jobs around the house. My brother is pleased with this product and is happy to recommend.

Useful self-drilling screws, seem strong but I am not totally convinced generally.
There's a good range of screw sizes in this collection, although all of the screws are quite heavy threaded and on the larger side generally. For jobs requiring strength of 'fix' I would use these screws with confidence. They feel like they are super strong but I cannot test whether they are actually stainless steel (because some reviewers have commented that they aren't stainless steel if they will cling to a magnet, which these do). I have looked on the internet and some types of stainless steels can apparently be magnetic, which I did not know. Because magnetism doesn't mean they aren't stainless steel I am assuming that they are. They are certainly very strong and well made either way.I have never used any screws quite like this with the 'drill bit' kinda built on the the end of the screw thread. I would normally use ordinary self-tapping screws for most of the work I do (which is usually with wood, not metal). I was expecting that these WELLOCKS screws would self-tap & drill better than my normal screw. However, I tried them in a range of wood types but the point on them is not particularly sharp and I think a pilot hole would actually help a great deal to get the screw started. Because of that I think the normal self-tapping screws I use (which have a very sharp point and then the thread engages almost immediately) are fine for me, and a little easier to start. The 'drill bit' end on the WELLOCKS screws is nearly a quarter of an inch long so you have to establish some depth into the wood before the thread takes over and fully engages, thereby assisting with the screwing process. I should mention that I normally do not use an electric screwdriver and that might possibly make a difference. So for me I can't see any major benefit over normal self-tapping screws (as long as they are good quality ones) but that's not to say that I don't like the WELLOCKS. I like their obvious strength and they look very well made indeed. The cross-head is also a good clean cut and even under extreme pressure I did not experience any 'mashing' of the cross-head, so again that suggests a very good quality steel screw. There are 187 screws in this kit and the price of around £13 is good value when you consider the self-drilling design and steel material, and the range of sizes. I am giving the WELLOCKS screws a 4 Star rating mainly because I didn't experience any major benefit in getting the screw started in wood over self-tappers, and without any pilot hole arguably slightly worse than self-tappers.
