An SBEC (also known as UBEC) such as this one is needed in certain FPV applications. Most ESC/BEC's are only rated for about 2A on their built in BEC circuit. The 2A are not a true rating; it's actually less than that. If you're using 3 to 4 servos, using digital servos, using standard size servos, or using a 3 cell LiPo battery or bigger, than you need to be using a UBEC (Universal Battery Eliminator Circuit.) Otherwise, the ESC will get over-loaded and cause a crash. It's best to run any 5 volt equipment on a SBEC to prevent this from happening. With our UBEC, you can run any equipment rated at 5V with up to an 8 cell LiPo battery (36 VOLTS), and the UBEC will automatically provide a constant 5V/5A of current. This is great for FPV flyers or any RC enthusiast that currently run servos or other equipment off noisy ESCs. Features: - Input voltage: 5V to 36V (2S to 8S LiPo) - Current output: 5V and up to 5 Amps continuous - Overload/short circuit protection - Reverse input protection - 500kHz switching frequency - Low ESR output capacitor
