Suncast 50-Gallon Medium Deck Box - Lightweight Resin Indoor/Outdoor Storage Container and Seat for Patio Cushions and Gardening Tools - Store Items on Patio, Garage, Yard - Java

This is our second deck box of this size. The first one stores our patio stuff. We purchased this one for inside the house as daily storage for our grandson's toys and sports gear - - and there is ample room to throw in anything we want to hide quickly when visitors are coming. The flat lid also worked for us as extra seating or serving surface, so we're pleased with it. Both boxes were easily assembled - 15 minutes tops. With a sturdy cover, the first one has survived two harsh northern winters without any problem - no gapping or splitting. For convenience, we keep it uncovered all summer so it sits in the sun and rain, and it has withstood all elements - no fading, and not a drop of water inside. Our fabric chair covers stay dry and clean inside. Just FYI: we ordered for indoor use in dark brown because it fits in with our family room furniture. It is a VERY dark brown - much darker than we anticipated, but we are not unhappy with it.

Can't say this took me more than five minutes to put together. No tools, no screws, no hassle. Assembled it inside, easily carried it outside to the deck; it's quite lightweight. With that said, it's also pretty sturdy. Now, granted, I'm not jumping up and down on it, and I haven't had Howard Wolowitz's mom sit on it, but I used it as a bench while I was assembling something else outside, and it didn't sway or groan - and I have put on a few pounds thanks to COVID.Plenty of room - we put all eight outdoor chair cushions in there, and it still had room for a couple of other items that we needed to store. Quite pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended.

I bought the 50 gal deck box with indented bench seat. This Suncast brand is a decent quality for the price. More expensive brands are "heavier" (thicker resin) but these are solid and sturdy (and also easier to move around since they're lighter). I would not hesitate to have all but the heaviest people sit on them. VERY easy to put together - just snap everything into the appropriate slot. I am a petite woman and I assembled it by myself in about 15 minutes, including reviewing the instructions. This is my 2nd deck box from them (I also have the smaller, square box), so I am obviously a satisfied customer. However, there are two things to note. First, it would be nice to put in the listing what the INSIDE dimensions are for a bench cushion, in case the customer wants to order one simultaneously. I took a guess and was wrong, so now I have to cut down the cushion I bought (because of the "lip" that goes up around 3 sides). But I do like that there is a drainage channel around the seat, as this will be sitting out in the rain. Finally, the manufacturer might consider redesigning the packaging as the way it is now, the "smooth" surfaces come with little scratches on them already. Might not matter if a light color, but I got the java (dark brown) and so they are noticeable. They are not gouges, so I live with them, but better shipping packaging might eliminate this issue. It's a bit of a disappointment if you are buying something brand new. This would probably not be noticeable on products with the basketweave or pebble surfaces, but mine is the smooth "clapboard" style bench.

I've been put off buying several deck storage boxes by agonized reviews from people who have tried and failed to put them together. This one really is easy! It took me 15 minutes - a good half of that was getting the top on, because the middle hinge was really stiff and the box wall kept bending so that the hinge didn't pop in. I ended up bracing the wall with a footstool and a bucket. Now that the hinge is in, the box is sturdy and works exactly as expected. I have a chaise longue cushion and six ordinary seat cushions in it. It's rained several times and nothing is wet. Very pleased!

Received last night. Took 3 minutes to assemble and that's without having any numbers/letters on the pieces that were referenced on the installation sheet...6 pieces, they all snap together. No tools, no hardware.The hardest part was to get it out of the box it shipped in. :)It appears solid and is a good size. Plenty of room and you can sit on it.Plus, you can't beat the price (I paid 59 w/ free Prime shipping).I'll update this review how this holds up over time.

Pros - sturdy, SUPER easy to assemble (snap-together), dark to warm brown finish, interior is raised enough to keep contents out of rain, moderate standing water.Cons - no latch or snap-close style lid. You can add a carabiner clip or something to secure otherwise the lid can and will open in high wind, letting all your light-weight stuff blow free. So lock it up if it's out in the open.Bought this to store pool chemicals out by the pool while adding a place to lay towels or phones down. Works for our purposes but in direct sunlight it can get a bit warm. Also we have purchased the small single seats from Suncast locally that match this unit and no problems with them either. And although it's not a stepping stool, I am 195 and have used it twice to save a hummingbird.

Super easy to assemble. Arrived quickly, is sturdy and has plenty of room to store a large bag of bird seed, small bag of garden soil, garden tools, and patio furniture covers. Purchased a 2nd to hold 2 large bags of smoker pellets!!! Sturdy enough to sit on too!

While this outdoor container is the perfect size for what I need, it was damaged upon receipt. Some of the inner plastic tabs were broken off (not the fault of the manufacturer); in spite of this, it still was able to be assembled. I don't know if it is entirely weatherproof...there is a gap where the front closes, so I imagine rain will get in it. I did put a hollywood block at the bottom to prevent it from blowing away, as it is very lightweight. It is, however, VERY easy to put together--no tools needed.
