Not exactly....
For the price, I feel this microscope is cheap and the kit sub par. The instructions were beyond sad and the tools that it came with didn't do the job. No instructions for mixing the dye. The shrimp eggs never hatched. Not one dropper included. The microscope itself is not enough for truly showing a kid the wonders of science. It's very limited and field of view so small. Cheaply made. Not designed well. Just marketed well apparently. Would love my daughters (6) money back but we tried the shrimp experiment to no avail and now I feel obligated to keep. This took all my daughters yearly allowance. 😞 She just wanted to see some tiny shrimp. Sigh

Good for the price
Christmas present for my 8 year old little scientist. She had a little trouble seeing through it at first but she worked with it and says she can see things fine and loves it. It seems to be a decent beginner microscope at a reasonable price. If she stays interested in such, I will get her a more expensive (real) one.

Just didn't work
I'm very familiar with microscopes, but was unable to get this one to focus at any magnification. Whether the cause was poor quality optics and construction, or possibly damage during shipping, I chose to return it and buy a different product. Very disappointed, since it was a gift for my daughter.

It is just perfect. Not a huge price tag
I homeschool and wanted a microscope for my 11 year old, as a back to school present. It is just perfect. Not a huge price tag, perfect since he gets distracted and may drop it or damage it. I tried it out, and the slides are died a nice blue, and are hard to find, as is typical for slides. It will teach him more very fine motor skills. It is just like the one I had as a child. (tip: take out the batteries after every use. I would leave out the screws to make this easier. To turn on the light, you gently turn the light over. So it will turn in storage if it is shaken or turned over at all. My Batteries were always dead because I left them in.

Great Gift to Spark Scientific Discovery!
Bought this as a gift for a 10 year old. He liked it and is even making his own slides to view various items. Great way to spark scientific interest.
