These stunning beads are handmade by women in Kenya and they are called Kazuri beads which means "small and beautiful" in Swahili. The beads are hand formed, painted and kiln fired by women who are usually the sole supporters of their families. Kazuri pays them 3 times the national wage of Kenya and provides them with health care, day care and education. This endeavor truly transforms the lives of these women and their families. Each bead is unique with amazing color and shine! I am very excited to have discovered Kazuri so that I can purchase these beads and make lovely jewelry in support of these Kenyan women. This necklace and earring set is comprised of lovely green speckled Kazuri beads with black matte Onyx and twisted copper wire beads. Pretty copper toggle clasp ends the piece nicely on dark copper chain. Measures 25-inches long. The hoop earrings are included and are black matte Onyx and twisted copper wire beads on copper ear wires. They hang 1.5-inches. Comes in a gift box.
