Cool idea, but it breaks too easily. The little piece between the sides that actually goes through the watermelon is what breaks, but hen you can't use it. Very disappointed.

I guess I need practice. I cut myself on the first pass and I ended up with mangled watermelon pieces. It feels awkward in your hand cutting. I'm hoping it will be amazing when I get some practice, but it took me twice as long to cut as when I use a knife. There were no instructions provided with this product. I cut my watermelon in half the short way. Perhaps long would have worked better. Once I cut a few pieces it was easier to continue on the cutting path but the first few cuts were bad and awkward. At this point I would stick to a knife, but hopefully it will grow on me.

The Eternity Chef stainless steel watermelon slicer is actually the second watermelon slicer that I have used. I prefer a few different things about this slicer over the one I previously used. This slicer is about 3 inches shorter in overall length than the other slicer I have used. You would think this could be a good or bad thing, I find that the shorter length makes it easier to get a good grip and angle for slicing through the melon. The other slicer has some cut outs along the curved part of the blade and the metal is sharp. I actually cut myself when I was using that slicer. The eternity chef slicer has a solid blade and the edges are smooth. I have run my fingers all around it and it feels much safer than the other slicer. This also gives me peace of mind should my kids get a hold of the slicer, I don't have to worry about them getting cut easily. The last difference, and the one that really sets this one above the other slicer is the rubber grip over the handle. This addition makes the handle comfortable to hold and it doesn't dig into your hand when you are cutting the melon. It really is a lot more comfortable.As far as function goes, this cuts the melon into slices that can easily be removed from the rind to eat. It is less messy than cutting the melon up the traditional way and if you are making a fruit salad, you can just use the rind for a decorative bowl. These watermelon slicers do take practice to get the hang of using them. You have to put a bit of pressure on the handle and blade to get it to slice all the way through the entire thing. I have found that it can be harder or easier depending on how ripe the melon is that you are cutting. Overall, I like this slicer and the rubber handle is really what sets it apart for me. I will be donating my other slicer since I won't be using it now that I have this one.I received this item free for my open, honest, and unbiased opinion.

This is so freaking amazing!!! I'm just so so so so so pleased with the results of this! It is not only a time saver but it's a MESS SAVER.Ok, so anyone who has cut up a watermelon knows juice gets everywhere. I mean it always ends up somewhere no matter what. Well not with this handy kitchen tool! I just cut my watermelon in half and then held the toll with the circular side down and pushed it into the flesh then I moved the handle straight up and down then rolled to towards me and bam! A perfect hunk of watermelon. I then removed the bigger pieces into a bowl and just cut as I went. All the juice is saved into the half of the watermelon bc there is so cutting. I had to trim hardly and of the white off because that bar that connects the two halves really works great to perfectly scrape the melon and leaving the rind. If I'm confusing you I'm sorry but it's simple as cutting your watermelon and going for it. You can save the juice or simply pour it down your sink and toss the rind. I always use to dread cutting up a watermelon and my family just loves them during the summer but now I'm actually excited and I'm getting a better technique.I received this product at a discount for my honest and unbiased review and it in no way swayed my opinion.

So insert the chef cutter knife arch up by the edge into your cut watermelon push down and slice, take cutter out and rotate with arch up and pull and that's it... I can not say enough good things about this watermelon cutter from Quadstarr Industries! No joke. The cutter did not come with instructions so I decided to go ahead and try it on my own with out googling for a tutorial. I figured it out pretty quick. I cut my watermelon end to end in half and then used the cutter with the curve facing down. I started in the middle of the watermelon and followed the rind from one side to the other. And then kept going in rows on each side. I then turned the cutter with the curve facing up and used it to grab and pull out the newly cut slices of fruit. I was very impressed with this item and I think anyone who eat watermelon absolutely needs this! I received this item for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
