IT WORKS!!!
I was NOT a believer of this little gadget, but a couple of neighbors recommended it. Its AWESOME! Really does suck the sting out and stops itching within minutes. Works better if used the same day one gets the bug bite. You may still have a little residue, but it helps the bite heal much faster and honestly stops itching for the most part almost immediately. Very effective. Even my husband asks for it now! My kids and i get bit BAD, and my 5yr old and 3yr olds actually ask for it as well because the relief is so much better after. They’ll struggle a little while im doing the first one (normal kid fear) but they end up asking for the next one themselves. While suctioning, I release the pressure a little in the process so it wont be so tight on my LO’s skin. That makes the process much smoother! Would absolutely recommend and purchase another for back up!

I adore this thing, in spite of my face hickey (it was my fault)
This is the second one I have bought for our household. I won’t go outside without it. We are recent transplants to Florida, and these are the meanest mosquitoes I’ve ever met. Sure, the Louisiana mosquitoes are the size of hummingbirds, but they’re not real go-getters unless you’re in the swamp. These Florida mosquitoes are sociopathic. Insanely aggressive and their bites are nasty and itchy. AND THEY ARE IN OUR BACKYARD! Two days ago I was in the yard and was attacked by a gang of these creatures. They dive-bombed me from all angles and chomped down on me more or less simultaneously. Side note: At the same time I learned that “natural” bug repellent made with essential oils might work on less ambitious mosquitoes, but it didn’t work with these. I ran inside to avoid further attack and grabbed the Bug Thing. I had a huge bite on my forehead (one of 12 bites in total), and it itched like crazy. I didn’t want to do to my face what I did to my arm a few years ago, scratching like a maniac while I slept and ending up with a scarred arm and blood-stained sheets. So I busted out the Bug Thing. In my eagerness to get rid of the itching, and because the bite was big, I kept the suction going for a long time. Too long, as it turns out. I didn’t read the instructions with our first Bug Thing, because it seemed self-explanatory, but the devil’s always in the details, isn’t it? Turns out, there’s a big fat warning about not using it on your face. Who knew? (Everyone who read the instructions, but not the girl with the big purple circle on her forehead.) I regret NOTHING. This thing works amazingly well, and so what if I have a quarter-sized love bite on my forehead? Big whoop. THE BUG THING IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ITCHING. Bruises go away; scars from fingernails, not so much. Another word of advice: I bought several of a knock-off brand, thinking, “It’s a plastic barrel with a plunger, how hard could it be to replicate?” I guess fairly hard, because the knock-offs were flimsy and I couldn’t really get a good vacuum with them. I mean, I guess I wouldn’t have been able to suck a ridiculous bruise to the surface of my face with one of the knock-offs, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to suck the itch juice out of my skin, either. I’d much rather have a bruise than a bite. Anyway, this thing is awesome, just don’t use it on your face…or do. I would100% do it again.

Bug Bite Thing Review: Works Best When the Bite Breaks Skin
I’ve tested this suction tool on various mosquito bites, and here’s the honest breakdown: it does help but only under specific conditions. 🦟 If the insect actually punctured the skin (like a mosquito that left a visible mark), the tool can reduce swelling and itch noticeably. But if the bite was more of a “numb sting” without a clear entry point, it’s less effective. It seems to rely on extracting saliva or irritants that are already beneath the surface. ⏱️ Pro tip: hold the suction for at least 5 seconds to give it time to work. Then wipe the area clean, especially if you suspect mosquito saliva is involved. That final step makes a difference. It’s not a miracle cure, but when used correctly, it’s a solid tool. ✨ Trust me when I say nothing else out there has provided as much relief as this!

This changes everything for me
This is a total game changer. I have an EpiPen with me close by, I am allergic to bees..bee stings. This device works so well I would rather carry one than the EpiPen. This 'thing' sucks the sting out, get it quick and its done!! Works for mosquitoes and spider bites too. Put one in your pocket! Absolutely Five Stars. It works.

The cap cracks really fast
It's great until it breaks, and it breaks fast. The instrument is really a great thing to have, and it's functional as long as you use it soon after the bite. HOWEVER, once the cap (the part that touches the skin at the bite location) cracks, the vacuum needed to pull the saliva out will not be created, and the whole thing is now useless. The problem is that the cap is a lot more delicate than you would think, and it cracks really easily. I had it in a purse in my backpack and it cracked within just a few weeks, it's my third one already.

I keep these everywhere- they work quite well, but the sooner after a bite the better
These work pretty well- the sooner after a bite, the better they work though. It works great within the first few minutes, but does very little after about the first half hour. I’m guessing that the tiny bite piercing probably heals over quickly and then can’t suction out as well. But who knows.. I have many of these, in all cars and locations we may need them. I once bought one from a different brand, and it didn’t work nearly as well, because the plastic didn’t line up perfectly to create the suction like these do. Highly recommend- a summer must!

Used it four times this year alone during the summer season! I have had mine for over a year. It drastically reduce the pain level and the reaction of being stung by a bee, hornet, even mosquito bites! I even bought one for my son this year, who works outdoors as a first responder, and he used it on spider bites. A simple tool and yet so effective!

Love this, have purchased for myself, family members and friends (I have multiple, for inside home, by the pool, in the car, in my handbag etc) Myself and my children are allergic to mosquitoes and cone out in large welts, for some bites I might need to suction up to 3 or 4 times before the desired relief is reached. For the kids who have more delicate skin, I need to use at a reduced suction strength so may even need a couple more. I say this as I have read reviews that say it doesn’t work, I think perhaps they may have needed to apply the suction a couple more times. I have also managed to find success on all body parts, including ankles and other “less fleshy spots” it just takes a little perseverance to get the suction right. Also the device is about the size of an electric toothbrush is width and half the length, so reviews saying it’s bulky are a bit misleading, it is also hollow and made of hard plastic so it is not at all heavy. Highly recommend, and if you want to reduce chemicals on your skin or need lasting relief it’s worth the effort of finding the technique (strength of suction and number of applications) that produce the best results for you! Good luck!
