An informative and interesting collection of papers.
This volume is a quite recent (2019) collection of papers in Social Psychology. The papers are organized around five themes: Motivated Reasoning, Ideology and Perceptions of inequality, Threat (as mentality underlying conspiracy theories), and the fourth and fifth on how belief systems affect interpretations of science, by both scientists and non-scientists,,I found this collection very interesting. My field is not Psychology, but I have been dismayed to find, in discussions with some others, how difficult it can be to come together on what are facts concerning many current issues, as well as the implications of some political statements and actions. The explorations and analysis of how belief systems can affect ones perception of reality, as explored in this collection, shed needed light on how individuals respond to events.I very much recommend this collection to those seeking to better understand the views of individuals whose interpretation of events differs significantly from ones own.
