A somewhat quirky good time.
I'd been anticipating playing this for a while(probably the best part of 2 years). From all the trailers it looked like fun.I've always been a big ratchet and clank fan and I do like a good platformer. This seems to be trying to be many things all at once, platformer, puzzler, open world explorer and combat game with rpg elements thrown into the mix too.For the most part it does everything adequately but I have to agree with people who say that the narrator starts to grate after a while(luckily you can turn him off). That's not to say the narration is totally awful,I think it just becomes a little infantile at times(just my personal take).Overall I really enjoyed my time with this game. The open world area is diverse and generally interesting. I found the 'can't swim' mechanic to be a bit of a bizarre and sometimes frustrating choice and it does take a while(or at least it did for me) to get your gear to a level whereby you can explore the more hazardous areas. It would also be nice to be able to customise your appearance to whatever look without it affecting your stats(again a personal preference but one I liked in games such as Assassins Creed Odyssey).I think you'll either love this or hate it dependant on how you like your games paced. If you want constant action there may not be enough here for you as there's a lot of travelling about to be done.If you like big open world games with lots of diverse elements that are in general pretty well executed you'll probably have a blast. The graphics by and large are quite good and the world is by and large pleasant to explore and wander round. You also get access to various forms of transport throughout the game which have to be upgraded to allow top performance from them. There are multiple difficulty settings so if you don't want dark souls masochism you won't find yourself beating your head against the nearest wall or throwing your controller around the room in frustration.Overall it's a really good game in my opinion, by no means perfect but I think a sequel would be well deserved. If you like open worlds it's a lot better than quite a few others I've played. I'd recommend giving it a go.(-:

Not bad.
The visuals in this game are lovely, and the gameplay is pretty smooth. The only criticism I really have of this is the narration style. Rather than have actors voice the different characters, the developers decided to have a single narrator tell the story and translate what the characters are saying. This means there’s a bit of a delay between the characters speaking, and the translation. Personally, this took me out of the narrative, and I just ended up skipping the dialogue. Which turned the game into a “follow the quest marker” type of game, rather than allowing me to loose myself in the story. And although this is my only criticism, it was also detrimental to my enjoyment of the gameplay to the extent I got bored and stopped playing it. It’s a real shame, as I’m sure the story has been given as much work as the rest of the game. But I couldn’t get past the choice of narration style to be fully absorbed in the story.

Please read
Basically,This does not play as cleanly or smoothly as the ps5 version. When I first played it, it looked a bit like an early ps3 or late ps2 game. I have decided to stick with it, and it is growing on me. Though considering that Ghost of Tsushima came out before and was AMAZING !! Do not expect the same level of graphics there. The detail looks a bit chunky when you get close, though I am playing it on a base level ps4. Maybe a ps4 pro would be better,It is a good game, and fun to play.Though I beleive that all the adverts you see for it, are being showcased on a ps4 pro at a minimum and more than likely a ps5.On a ps5, this game would be excellent I am sure !!I would prefer to rate it 3.5, but I cannot.Good game, the only let down are the graphics. Which aren't 'bad' just not the same level as what you will see on an adcert for this game. In my opinion.

Jibberish, and a little fun.
Wow. The writing team needs to be sacked here. The dialogue is just awful, and while some of the twee alternate names for things like toilets provide a giggle every now and then, its the overall dialogue that ruined it; its like 4 different people wrote all the dialogue each and they were going to choose the best of the four but didn't bother to do it. So everything the narrator says is repeated about four times and its all utter rubbish.Gameplay-wise it's pretty much all very samey. I was expecting to be able to mutate the character physically to gain new abilities, but that's not actually part of the game. All in all, I don't recommend.

Fun little game
The game its self is great. Not quite AAA but it has a lot of polish and it's basically AA and 3 quarters A. For a studio that has 20 employees thats pretty damn great. Gameplay is responsive, fun and addictive. Huge open world map very diverse and pretty and the combat is very satisfying. All around great game, minimal bugs aswell, the only bugs I ever got were non intrusive and almost essentially not even a thing. The odd little glitch or frame rate drop. Very minimal bugs, very good gameplay. The only downside is the story is very bare bones but there's so many side quests that are actuslly fun it's more about the satisfying combat and exploration than story. As always chuffed to buy games off amazon. Always the cheaper option and always great condition
