Goodnight Hobbiton

We are a family of nerds and we love sharing our passion for books, movies, and video games with our children. This is such a cute and fun book! We got it for our youngest's first birthday, he has quickly become his favorite bedtime book. And if he sees it when it's not bedtime, he wants us to read it to him. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to share their love of Lord of the Rings with their little ones.

Bought this for our twin baby girls. Actually that's a lie. We bought it for us! But the babies are the excuse :) 5 stars because we love the Hobbit theme and the satire of Goodnight Moon. It's enjoyable to read and we laughed a few times. 4 stars for the material quality. The pages are thin. The cover was bent upon arrival and not in any expected "new" condition. The drawings are kind of mediocre: kind of a messy style that's not really our style, and some are better than others, but it works. Overall a 4.5 stars, but we like it so we rounded up. Great gift for anyone (of any age, let's be real) who is a fan of Tolkien's works.

A very good storybook to introduce your little ones into the world of J.R.R. Tolkien.

This book is fun but I thought the storyline strange and not as classic as expected.

As a long-time fan of Tolkien and The Hobbit, I was hoping for a little better. This book is cute and sweet, and it captures the spirit of a children's book but I feel it misses the mark as for a faithful matchup against the original source. Let's be honest - the children aren't going to notice it. But the adults will, and the kids may complain once they get exposed to the original a few years down the road. And somebody is gonna have some 'splainin' to do. That said - the artwork is enjoyable and the prose is fair. As far as a product not licensed or affiliated with the Tolkien estate, I guess it's OK. I didn't return it, but knowing what I do now I probably would not have purchased it. Your mileage may vary.

Absolutely Love it and everyone I have gifted it to loves it too. Third purchase and looking at two more possibilities for Christmas gifts.

My husband and I bought a few of these for multiple baby showers since he is a huge Lord of the Rings fan. The artwork and quality of the book are great, and I can guarantee you won’t be buying the same book as someone else if you get it for a baby shower haha. I know this is a book meant for children, but I could not get pass the fact at how cheap and poorly this book is written. Being both a massive fan of LoTR, and having fond memories of reading Goodnight Moon. I thought this would be a shoe-in to the collection of books for my niece. Do not waste your time and spend your money on another book.

Beautiful book

I'm not sure why Amazon doesn't show all of the "helpful" rated reviews at the top. Had I seen them first I never would've bought this. This book is incredibly low effort and quality. No rhythm, barely rhymes, looks like it was put together in MS Paint, just re-uses one or two images. Not clever or cute or anything. I honestly think I could put together a better effort in an afternoon.

My absolute favourite bedtime story for my daughter. I have gifted this book also to many of my lord of the rings fan friends, who enjoy this book as much as their bubbas.

This was an adorable gift for my daughter as a surprise to my husband, who is a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan!
