Datel Max XBOX Action Replay

Most of us who know about Action Replay Max know that they have made a lot of interesting gaming products for a lot of the older machines. (PS2, PSP, PSOne, XBOX) They not only made cheat devices and accessories, but in cases like this, they made a collection of saves for your favorite games so you can now go farther than ever for your games.Oddly enough, this is a much better Action Replay program than the PSP version. This Action Replay device, not only includes a Windows program to properly transfer your saves back and forth between save card and PC, but the program actually includes over 1,000 + saves for 100's of XBOX games as well as comes with a 8 Meg memory card (NO, not 16 Meg as it was explained in the details, it is ONLY 8 meg memory card). I was really impressed with how many saves were included with the whole package, as most of the other Action Replay devices didn't even come with saves at all. Overall, this is a very good device to have and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for something that will help you go farther with your games. One thing, because of the time it was made, the program may only work properly for Windows XP. I have heard rumors and what not that the program doesn't exactly work too well with VISTA/7/8. Since I have Windows XP, I don't have that problem and I personally have not tried it on newer Windows so I can't say for sure what your experience will be. (Just a warning incase you have problems)My overall experience with this device was pretty good. My only major pet peeve was the hefty price tag on it that the company had put for this device. Personally, I might want to recommend finding a cheaper dealer, mainly because not many people own an original "working" XBOX. One thing to point out, if you are only getting this for the Memory card, you are better off getting something cheaper. I personally did love that it came with tons of saves for a lot of games, but this is not for everyone. If you prefer to use this to upload your own saves to a web site, this is also ideal for you, as it does include the USB cable to upload to your PC. I do recommend this to anyone, but I also recommend looking for a cheaper price tag, and try to ask for NEW, not used. ( I got it "new" so it was somewhat worth the price, but still, I would prefer a little cheaper.)

This items works well in Windows7-64bit, BUT it took some effort and frustration. I rated it 4star because it does everything it's supposed to *if you have XP Mode for Win7*.My understanding is that you must have Win7 Professional or Ultimate for this to work because it requires that you utilize XP Mode which I believe only works with the more powerful Win7 releases. I'm running Win7 Pro 64bit and initially it would NOT detect the memory card plugged in. It found the drive, but would never see the card. After reading many forums and going to their site, I finally found some references to the need for XP Mode. You install XP Mode and Virtual PC and then by running the Datel app inside of XP Mode the memory card would be detected in the reader. Get XP Mode from Microsoft's site here:[...]I utilized this to put Linux on my classic Xbox. Functioned great. Once I got XP Mode working.

Some people have been able to get this to work with Vista, but officially Datel doesn't support Vista or Windows 7. I broke out the old WinXP box and this thing works great.The drivers for XP might work for you in Vista 32-bit or Win7 32-bit, but they aren't signed drivers so they might not. And they DEFINITELY won't work in 64-bit.

If you are wanting to buy this just for softmodding your Xbox, it's a great buy and worked perfect in my XP Pro desktop, But I have found out that most of the game saves that I downloaded through the program appeared as damaged when trying to open them with a games. That is the only reason I give this only 3 stars.

This is only compatible with Windows XP and lower... I figured out that you can use the Virtual Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 to do all the Datel Action Replay stuff! Saved my butt... and money!

i just bought it for the xbox media center mod and it worked fine. HOWEVER the free 8mb memory card that came with it was a dud so luckily i had a memory card to use. haven't really used it for cheats like it its made for but im sure it'll work fine too.

Does its job, functions as it should, if you still have an original xbox, this one is the way to go.

This worked great for softmodding my xbox to put XBMC on it. It gets the job done, but it's to bad I only had one use for it.
